Make sure there sufficient grade to direct water away from the pool. How do you plan to get rid of the water on the house side.
Yes the grade will be enough to direct the water away from the pool. There will be 21 inches from the deck to the house. That area will be covered by landscape rocks.
 
We decided on no coping.
Don’t you need coping even if it’s at the same level as the deck? When I’ve seen similar “non coping” pools, they still have coping but it’s just flat against the deck. I’m not an expert, just curious how coping could be optional.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I missed a day of posting. Here is the latest.
Day 126. Xcel applied Tuesday and plaster applied today. We went with plain white plaster. Was told to fill the pool to middle of skimmers. Started filling the pool with house hose at 4PM. Did not test the house water before filling. No equipment yet. PB is telling me Monday or Tuesday for the equipment to be installed.
