Details on the bar with palapa? I want something like that.

The palapas have a synthetic thatch roofing company called Endureed they send us the materials. Has 20 year warranty vs traditional which needs replacement 5-7 years and gets dull over time. I also have 2 small refrigerators built in and two hanging fans under the bar area.

Vic,

I assume you have an IntelliFlo pump??

Where did you buy the new pump? And what did you do with the old one?

Thanks,

Jim R.
Jim, I called around here in the north Dallas area and I get quoted 2800-3500 installed. And they are hard to find and I notice they are charging a premium and back ordered etc. Petair has zero control over dealer markup and pricing. I also thought about getting another brand but my automation and spa heater is Pentair and I was trying to keep the same setup. I got one brand new intelliFlo variable 3.5hp online for $1100 the next day shipped. The model is a couple of years old but it's an upgrade from my old intelliflo. I called Pentair and they are honoring giving 60 days warranty. Which is okay. I will take the risk vs paying a hefty premium for a local installer. I plan to fix the old pump and keeping as a backup. I know it needs a new motor for sure and also the LCD module needs replacement since it's almost dim/dark.

Vic,

I installed two complete Pentair systems at a couple of rent houses. IntelliFlo pump, EasyTouch with IC40 SWCG. No warranty.

One pool was done about 11 years ago and the other one over 8 years ago. The pumps run 24/7 and I have had zero issues. I had to replace both salt cells, but one was about 10 years old the other about 7 years old, so that was expected.

I was hoping you were going to throw your old pump away and I was going to pick through your garbage. You have made a much better choice. :goodjob:

Thanks,

Jim R.

haha! I'm shopping around for a motor and LCD. If I can fix it under 500 I will be happy. The pump itself is good and it's just a modular design it's just bolt on parts. Maybe the newer one has better software management. But these old pumps can be life savers. One service call can run big money these days.
