Hello. I have posted before on other topics and appreciate all of the help you have provided.

As I take more control of my pool repairs and maintenance, I am now onto lights. I believe I have the Microbrite lights in my pool and spa. The pool and spa lights are identical and the smaller 2" lens. I control them on the easytouch system with the interrlibrite settings. The bezel on my lights is not something I see online when I google Microbrite, but I assume the bezel is something that is a user choice. My pool and spa install was 2014 and my installer has replaced the spa lights and some of the pool lights over the past 8 years more than I can stomach.

I know that Microbrite lights are not serviceable, but wondered if the opening for them is compatible with other products, such as the J&J Electronics ColorSplash VU Nicheless RGB-W Series. I am not necessarily looking to save money, but would just like a superior product that will last longer than 1-2 years.

Those do not look like MicroBrite lights

I think you are right. I googled the Pentair GLOBRITE lights and this photo came up, which looks close to my lights.

Globrite-lrg.jpg

If that is the case, is the sizing of the opening for GLOBRITE lights compatible with the Microbrite light specs or something else?

I hope so!

Thanks

Pentair has three model Microbrite lights in an adapter or a Microbright adapter that will fit into the Glowbright niche. The 618040 MicroBrite-to-GloBrite adaptor installs onto any MicroBrite Light and allows it to be mounted into a GloBrite Niche or a ColorVision Bubble. Pentair also offers a MicroBrite-G light kit (item # 620166) which comes as a MicroBrite, color light along with the adapter but only in 150’ foot cord length.

  • WarmWhite LED, for installation in Pentair GloBrite Niche or Pentair ColorVision Bubbler - 602167
  • White LED, for installation in Pentair GloBrite Niche or Pentair ColorVision Bubbler - 602165
  • Color LED, for installation in Pentair GloBrite NIche or Pentair ColorVision Bubbler - 602166
  • Adapter allows a MicroBrite light to be installed into a Pentair GloBrite Niche or Pentair Colorvision Bubbler. - 618040

Note that your Globrite lights are in the fiberglass niche. Check with Pentair that the Micro-G lights will fit your niche.

Thank you for this. Super helpful. I will look into these and see what I can find out.

Replace the GloBrites with MicroBrites as they fail. The jury is out if the MicroBrites last much longer then the GloBrites.

Florida Sunseeker makes a GloBrite replacement light with adapter to fit the proprietary niche. Light is the Pool Tone Nicheless 1 1/2 inch Swimming Pool or Spa Light 15 - 100 Feet and the Adapter for Pentair globrite 1.5 or 1-1/2 inch lights. They include the adapter for free if you ask.

Note that the Globrite light is held in place by a twist lock while the Florida Sunseeker replacement light is held in place by friction. It will work on a flat pool wall surface quite well. The lights are about 6" in diameter so much bigger than the Globrite. And they also put out a lot more light.

This member posted satisfaction with the Pool tone nicheless 1.5" light replacing their GloBrite.

Use checkout code TFP7 on the Florida Sunseeker website for 7% off, free USA shipping, and no sales tax, on any items.[
