Pentair Intelliflo VSF Thermal Mode

Is there any reason why my spa light should have thermal mode (freeze protect) on?
I’m realizing that is how the pool school company set it up.

Kathy,

The Spa light would not normally have freeze protect on. Maybe the idea is to give you a visual warning that freeze protect is on. :scratch:

I have freeze protect set for my pad light, but that also turns on small heater in my equipment shed.

Not sure what that has to do with your IntelliFlo pump??

Thank you, I’m going to turn it off then. First winter with this pool and I was wondering if it was possessed.

We couldn’t figure out why the light was coming on by itself. My husband did notice that it was when it got cold.

When I called the pentair 800 number he said it was a programming issue because two were conflicting by a minute. It Happened again so I started googling, YouTubing and checking all the threads here.

(Apologies, I wasn’t sure if you needed to know what system I was working with.)

Kathy,

The IntelliFlo is your pump.. I assume you have an IntelliCenter automation system, or maybe an IntelliTouch, or EasyTouch

Yes, easy touch 8 with wireless control panel and app.
When the system goes into “thermal mode” and does a rotation in the spa, does it turn on the spa heater?
