Iowa Vinyl Pool

Probably. It won’t hurt the pool (if you don’t use it) and it won’t hurt the bank because they are relatively cheap. ($125 ?)

Then the stuff... a giant bucket with blue lid is trichlor pucks. The other white bucket is ph increaser. The bucket in the box is calcium hardness increaser... are you kidding me?!? My pool does not need this. 🤦‍♀️59E7A68B-35BE-498E-828B-4DBF34DBE82F.jpeg

I was hoping when they came to vacuum the pool, they vacuumed to waste. But nope the water level is above the skimmer...

Sit back and relax. Most plaster folks have to let the PB take full control the first month for warranty purposes. They all end up ok. You will too. In this case he is a pro at your high iron so he is gonna help more than he hurts.

I guess we're suppose to get 3-4 inches of rain tomorrow. We're going to have to drain some water or else the pool will flood...

Orientation tomorrow at 1pm! Then we're on our own... hopefully after about a week or two, I'll be less neurotic about the pool chemicals... 🤣 No guarantees though...

They did build a fantastic pool and I will be forever grateful! ❤️

My pool guy is using his own chemicals before he hands over my pool to me. I am going to be walking beside him to get a crash course on closing the pool. I asked him to come open it for me in the spring (no charge) and he told me if he opens, he will use his own chemicals. It's a small price to pay for the actual walk through so I know how to do it myself. You're almost done. PS... your pool does look pretty with Barney purple water.

I can promise you 2 things there……

if you drain 4 inches before, you’ll get 1/2 inch.

if you leave it to correct afterwards you’ll get 11 inches.

It’s Murphy’s law in full effect. You have a 50/50 chance and will guess wrong 90% of the time.

Right?!? We'll drain to get it down to mid skimmer level. Right now the water is above the skimmer hole entirely.

Good news/bad news so far with the latest updates. The good is the builder is working with you, really trying to get things setup, and is doing what PBs can do best, trying to get you to swim. Even the best PBs have the best intentions with water chemistry, but few are experts at it. They do their thing, we do our thing over here at TFP.

The bad news is you have a purple pool! Don't think I've ever seen a purple pool. Kinda cool looking, but probably not a TFP chemistry balance in there. Draining some of the water out will be helpful in clearing some of whatever is in there out, as well as get the water to the proper height. But more good news, whatever the chemistry is, you can fix it with the TFP methods. All that magic stuff they piled up for you can likely go in the trash, and you arm yourself with some chlorine, muriatic acid, maybe some Borax or washing soda and bam, your at perfect chemistry.

Speaking of water levels, when are they getting the auto cover installed and hooked up? That doesn't help you now with the water levels, but will for sure in the future.

Really like the labels, when they finished construction on my pool at the end of last year and closed it, they labeled everything. Not the arrows, but at least what each valve does and was nice.

We are getting hammered with rain... the pool looks blue... it will be interesting to see the liner with tfp balanced water...E7CBC3F1-A490-4195-8A4E-EAE988861790.jpeg
