Is this pump toast?

I could hear that the bearings needed to be replaced. I have it on the bench and the through bolts are rusted and snapped upon removal. The back panel on the dry side isn’t budging, and I’m wondering if it is worth the headache.8ABCA8F4-ED9A-4E75-89C9-95DD2DE0E45E.jpeg

97,

It is a single speed pump... I can't see rebuilding any single speed pump.

I suggest that you move into this Century and replace it with either a 2-speed pump, or even better, a variable speed pump to save on the old electrical bill.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I came up with 18,000 gallons.
We have a hot tub with waterfall overflow. So, part of the return is diverted to the spa. We have a controller, and I just set the daily on/off times, but can control pool/spa mode and the heater. We have a pressure-side Polaris which has a booster pump.

Depending on your location, you may have to go with a new variable speed pumps. After July 2021 you must replace a pump with a variable speed pump. One way to get around this is to just replace the motor. I have done that three times with my 13 year old pump. I recommend going to a two speed motor. This would also depend if your pool controller can handle a two speed pump.

If the automation has sufficiently new software, you can go with a new Jandy variable speed pump.

There might be a rebate available from your local utility and/or Jandy if you switch to a variable speed pump.

I found this same Harris pump, and I’m wondering if anyone has heard much about it.

I wouldn’t have too much confidence in those pumps.

If your Jandy automation is newer and can control a variable speed pump, you should go with a Jandy variable speed pump.

To qualify for a rebate, you have to use an approved local installer and an approved pump.

Does your utility offer a rebate?
