Air Intake for spa?

I am not saying I don't want to help you. I am saying I can't see the jet well enough to identify it, and I am not there to look at it myself. That is what I need to determine what is going on there. Does the spa share equipment with the pool? Can you pump down the spa enough to get a close-up from a few inches away? The information you are giving me does not make sense, I need to see it. For example, unless you have the worlds smallest hands, you are not getting your finger down a half inch pipe to feel anything. So please, pretty please with sugar on top, take a picture of the jet.

lol yes I will pump water into pool tomorrow and take pic of jet. Again I really do appreciate your time with me. Obviously you’re already then the old owners pool man that’s paid through the month.

sorry it took me so long so here’s what I’ve noticed. I drained my spa into my pool, took pics of jets. When I switched to pool suction and spa return I noticed very strong water flow out of jets and even Had air in the jets, it started to fill over spill way so I turned from pool suction to spa suction and the jets stopped having air in them. Just minor water movement again. Here are the pics of my jets I’m hoping this is what you meant? I unscrewed eyeballs off first

So, these are your jets. With what you discovered we no longer need to know, as the problem is about water flow, not returns. But I said I would identify them, so I did.
If it works off of the pool suction but not the spa suction then there is a restriction in the spa suction. How many drains are there in the spa? Is there a skimmer?

i have 2 drains on floor of spa and one on side wall. There is only a skimmer in the pool

That looks like a "flapper" valve, which means it has a plastic plug on a rubber hinge that only allows flow one way. But the rubber gets stiff over time and breaks, leaving you with a plastic plug floating free that partially blocks the water flow going out to the pump. Usually when this happens you can hear a deep "thump" when you turn on the pump as that plug slams into the valve body.

I will check that when I get home. This is so frustrating for what seems to be a very standard pool set up.

Nothing is standard in pools construction. We see creative builders, plumbers, and electricians work here all the time.

Ok so got a pool guy over that was recommended on yelp by people in my area... He said he feels strongly that at one time there was a blower installed on the air pipe. There was a spare breaker with no wires on it, and Highly possible the last owner didn't want to maintain it and just removed/capped pipe off. Plus there is a broken air actuated switch inside spa that he said its likely it used to go the an old blower as well... He also said that he isn't sure of what that old valve right next to the spa's function is. It doesn't seem to change anything while in use. Hoping his points are valid before I order a blower and hook it up.

Update... I hooked up a 1HP blower and it right away got violent in spa. I went over to look and majority of air was coming out of floor drain in spa. I’m starting to lose hope. Any ideas what that would mean?

The air was coming out of the two drains on the floor? Those should not be connected to the return system. Did you have the pump on when you used the blower? Valves in Spa setting?

You see increased air in the pump basket when the blower was on?

Maybe that's how it was plumbed. Would explain why we couldn't get air to pull through the jet venturis. You have another suction on the wall and floor, correct? 2 is all you need.
You just never know what a builder is going to do with something like that. There are no codes, and only loosely defined standard practices. He can pretty much do whatever he wants. And once it's buried, it can be pretty tough to figure it out.

there are 2 screens on the floor and one In the side wall. Do you think if I’m able to regulate the air it will cause damage pumping through like that? I’ve see on you tube people will install a “T” valve with a 90 on it to divert a little of that pressure
