Bubbles and sputtering from return jets

Broken Arrow, OK
I've read a few related posts on this but not quite found a situation that matches mine. Everything appears to be filtering fine but I have a jet that sputters occasionally and makes a popping noise. Water is still returning fine but I do see bubbles as this occurs. I am wondering if there is air in my line or perhaps I need to vent air from top of my DE filter?? I sprayed soapy water around pump but dont see any leaks.

This all started after my pool was flooded a few weeks ago and filled with dirt from runoff. I cleared all that out and pool looks great. Chemically everything is in good shape. I noticed when it flooded, the filter was overwhelmed and there was JUST bubbles coming out of this jet and you could hear it struggling (kind of like an engine trying to start but failing). That all cleared out with backwashing and cleaning and its improved but still sputters and pops. I've backwashed several times and pressure on filter is good.

Also regarding the bubbles, they appeared since the flood and occur not only during the sputters but anytime I stir up the water. So the bubbles seem to occur anytime the water is disturbed. The only thing new I've added that was never there before is natural chemistry liquid CYA. Not sure if that started the bubbles when the water is disturbed or not. I have no clue what could be causing this or if the two issues are related. I attached a photo of the bubble coming out of the jet and one photo after I stirred the water. They last for a bit and float around the pool.

You can try venting the air off your DE filter. Odd that it looks like foam -----

I agree, i dont suppose the liqid cya could cause foam or some kind of runoff from flood? I was thinking there are many fertilizers/pesticide etc running off lawns in my neighborhood. Or could the excessive organic matter cause that even thought i dont see it anymore? Free chlorine and cc are fine though. Both 3 to 4 ppm.

I was wondering about fertilizer. See if it continues. If it does after a week or so, report back.

You should always burp the air out of your DE filter after backwashing and filling with DE. Crack the valve open to let air out until you get water flowing out. Do it a few times until you get water, not air, as soon as the valve is cracked open.
