This one is for me....

I sold just about everything except the essentials. Lots of sad days but none as much as saying goodbye to the wheel loader and excavator

Was it enough to pay for all the outfits you needed at the local Chip ‘n Dale’s club??? I bet those break-away Velcro fireman pants cost a lot...not to mention the sequins speedos...

I worked for a framing company right out of high school and my job at the time was cutting and placing all the large beams in houses. I mis-measured a Glulam and cut it 6" short...that was the most expensive firewood I ever bought:cry:. I won't lie, I had flashbacks yesterday when I buried the saw in those beams.

I cut it twice and it is still to short.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Looks great! Are you thinking about putting anything on that roof (PV or pool solar)? Or maybe a diving board?
The house actually had solar heating on it but it leaked and was plumbed silly. I ripped it all off and threw it away. The patio roof is very visible from our master bedroom so I don't want to see any of that stuff up there.

I don't think the PV solar technology is quite there yet and our electric bill is reasonable enough for what we have going right now.

A rope swing might find itself off the patio though?

Smoked wangers are delicious?

Haven't decided any of that yet. The pellet grills and ceramic cookers look odd when they're built in but if not, seems dumb to have an outdoor kitchen with standalone grills all over the place.

I'll do an NG grill for sure and see what my smoker options are after. Honestly I don't know where any of that is going to go anyway... with all the other patios I've built the biggest concern was how to fill all the space - this one isn't big enough for anything☹

Nice. :thumleft: what is that 2:12 pitch? What about snow load?

I am pretty sure even after the ???major climate change??? Brings 5' of snow that the house would go before that structure collapses. Always nice to see quality custom work... Very nice.

I am a bit surprised to see the toe stubber at the base of the column. Was that a code thing?

Code. The footing/foundation has to be 8" above grade if it's dirt and 4" if concrete. In this case the extra height gives additional strength to the columns which kept me from having to go to a thicker steel post. The columns will get boxed out the size of that base so it won't be noticeable when finished.
What is going on with the door leading to the outside.....I know your dog does not fit through that small hole...do you have a kitty also?

What did you end up doing with the floor inside?

Kim:kim:

I hate that thing! We also have two smaller dogs, one of which it's very old and has bladder issues so the fence keeps her outside when the door is open.

The flooring was finally picked back up and returned to the manufacturer. My wife found another floor that looks close enough so we went ahead and ordered it. Hopefully it'll be here this week... and hopefully it matches.... and hopefully that project will be behind us
