Cliff....you gotta start using the Gallery function to upload your pics rather than the attachment button. Otherwise it makes the posts look bad. It's an extra step to use the Gallery but you can upload multiple files at once and then simply copy and past the Gallery link into a post.

And there's a separate Album in the gallery now for all FOOD related pics....make sure you select the Food album

I have to pull out the wife’s instant pot. We got it last year and used it once only. U r kicking out some good looking food with it!

My neighbor owns two IPs. She swears they’re the greatest invention since the light bulb. I once glibly said, “Meh, it’s just a fancy electric pressure cooker...” and she acted like I cursed her child or something. Be careful, don’t get sucked into the IP cult .... or you’ll be shaving your head, renouncing worldly cooking methods and wearing orange robes & roller skates...

As a very busy full time mom, employee, and masters level college student, my Crock Pot Express is hands down the best purchase I have made this past year! I have some recipes where I just throw everything in the pot, set the time, and stir it when done and it comes out perfect in 30 minutes or less, and I don't have to sit and watch it.

(Shhhhhhhh....I actually own a KitchenAide Electric Pressure/Multi-Cooker, basically an Instant Pot, and have used it to make excellent corned beef and pot roast.....don’t tell anyone or else they’ll throw me out of the slow cooker society .... :censored:)

We do use the slower cooker a lot cause the kids have sports and a ton of homework so cooking each nights gets difficult. I like a lot of the meals she makes in them. I look forward to a lot of them.

Hey jim, we just got the instant pot this Christmas and sometime sit is too cold or dreary to grill and smoke so we are just experimenting in the kitchen with it and the air fryer and the outdoor griddle. As soon as the weather warms up I will be back on the grill and smoker but I do have to admit that I am enjoying the instant pot :p

Eating on my own tonight so made myself panettone French toast. I’m the only one in my family who likes panettone. I think cause it’s all my uncle ever ate at the shop during the holiday when I used to deliver for them and if I was hungry it was panettone till lunch or nothing. I LOVE panettone .... introduced it to my wife’s uncivilized family (ie, anyone not Italian :ROFLMAO:), they all now get one every holiday season.

You should have seen my wife’s head explode when I first made her try struffoli

We use to live not far from Arthur Avenue in Da’ Bronx....gosh I miss those times. We were dirt poor college age students living off my income but we ate so much good Italian food back then....and the pastries....

lol ya deff italian fruit cake. but wait now they come in a ton of different flavors! chocolate chip but still with the citrus taste. cream filled ones. chocolate cream filled. the restaurant place we buy them at has like 15 diff flavors from italy now.

now struffoli has to be rock rock hard kind for me to eat it. my grandmothers mounds were the little balls but when she made her honey butter mix they were mounted with it boiling hot and then cooled quick so it became rock rock hard. that's how i like em. her dough balls were harder also vs soft like a lot of others i have had.

pasticciotto are one of my favorites. chocolate filled though. so good!
and the best but hardest to get right cause the dough needs to be see through thin and drained over and over after fired is italian bow tie cookies with powder sugar. man those are my top 3 for sure!

i used to love to watch my grandmother make them at xmas. she puts my mom to shame in how fast she was compared to my mom. :) she could do 12 eggs in less time my mom does 6 eggs. :) and my dad always loves to add that his grandmother used to do them over a coal stove faster too. lol

jim
