Yes really - another Houston pool!

Next time you talk to him ask him what all they added so we know what you are starting with. I have my guesses but want to be sure.

The pH is going to shoot up fast due to the plaster curing. That is why Maddie said to get your hands on some muriatic acid.

Poolbella:

Love the pool pics. I am in Spring/Tomball area of Houston and we had the Blue Surf applied yesterday to our pool build. Looks gorgeous! Acid washing starts today and then the fill. I love your silver coping, as I think the "blueness" of Blue "Smurf" really shines against a lighter colored coping.

Hi! So you tease us with this ^^^^^^ but don't share in pics or a build thread??? I have a sad :(

It’s going pretty well, I got my wall whale brush finally which is definitely helping me with the brushing. We have some dirt that seems to have settled on the bottom, I kind of need to get in the water to really get to it but it’s too cold still!

The whale brush is awesome! We’ve got some sand at the bottom as well. It doesn’t get moved by the brush at all. I’m going to ask my PB about it on Monday when we do pool school. I’ll let you know what he says.

I'm with you Poolbella. There have been a lot of pros to building a pool in December/January. But mark "Brushing your newly filled pool 3x/day during an arctic blast in Houston" as a definite con. :(

Indeed! Husband got all dressed up to do it yesterday but I put a stop to it once I realized how cold it was. I’m hoping for a few warmer days this week.

Latest problem is that water is not flowing through our pump today, the little basket is flows through is just blowing air through it. I switched off the pump at the panel, now I’m waiting to hear back from the PB, unfortunately he’s traveling today.

Nobody messed with the valves, but I think there probably is stuff in the baskets - we’ve had a couple of leaves but not enough that anything would get clogged I don’t think. There are some chunks of pebble in the basket of the pump too. It’s very sunny today and we haven’t had any rain today so I think it will be OK for the pump to stay off until the morning if I don’t hear back from the PB today.

Yesterday was really windy. I found a bunch of leaves in my skimmers today and I don’t have any trees or plants in my backyard. That may have been part of why you had so many leaves.
