    Plumbing for draining pool?

I realize states and counties have different regulations for draining pools, but is there a standard plumbing for pool builders? I'm asking because I need to drain my pool, but I don't believe it's tied into our sewer system, which I believe my county requires. The only outlet I know of runs to...

    California Wildfire Pool

So I live in Altadena CA. You may have heard of a “little” wildfire we had last week, and it’s still going. Only saw it briefly, but my pool looks something like the water in the Creature from the Black Lagoon. I’m assuming it’s got a ton of ash, debris, toxic materials and God knows what else...

Changed pool bulb, still not working

Well, problem solved. So I was going to take a peak inside the junction box, but before I did that I wanted to see some pics of what the inside would look like. I searched TFP and found a thread that said sometimes the issue is just the GFCI on the side of the automation box being tripped...

Changed pool bulb, still not working

I didn’t use anything to test. That was my first mistake. I just assumed it was the bulb and a new one would fix the issue. The tool I have I believe is called an outlet tester. Don’t think it can used to test light fixtures though. I guess I’ll have to open it back up and make sure the bulb is...

Changed pool bulb, still not working

No there wasn’t any water inside the housing, it was completely dry. I didn’t test the bulb cause I read that you shouldn’t turn on outside the water for whatever reason. Never used a voltmeter, only the tool that lets you know if current is live in an outlet.

Changed pool bulb, still not working

I've been trying to get the screw undone to my Pentair pool light for a few years. The light worked when we first bought the place, but stopped maybe 5 years ago. Screw was frozen tight probably due to calcium or something. Anyway, had to drain pool a bit this week to deal with too much salt and...

    Off Brand Cell Recos

Thanks both for your reply. Yeah, my current cell only had a 1 year warranty as it was a warranty replacement for the previous one that failed. Didn’t realize an off brand would have limited communication with my automation box. So it seems you’re saying it would just run at 100% and I wouldn’t...

    Off Brand Cell Recos

I have Hayward equipment and have had bad luck with their salt cells. My latest one which is 2 or 3 years old is giving me constant low salt readings and not pr. Salt is not low, it's over 4000 at this point cause I've been adding to try and get it to activate. Anyway, took it to Leslie's for...

    Pool Light Stuck

The screw to my pool light is fused shut with calcium scale or something. I can’t get it undone to replace the light that’s not working. Normally on a screw above ground I would use wd40 to loosen. Any ideas on how to get loose without having to drain the water below the light? Thx.

What does a new automation panel cost?

Thanks guys. Maybe my system is just a lemon. I’ll start checking out my options to replace this thing.

What does a new automation panel cost?

I’m soooo tired of dealing with the low salt, chlorinator off messages, or the hi salt warnings I’ve gotten over the years. And I’ve spent way too much money on bleach and salt trying to compensate for the times my system isn’t working. What can i expect to pay for a whole new salt automation...

    Still Getting High Salt/Amps Warning

Tried a bunch of different places and no one has the PCB-PRO board in stock. Wondering if there is some other fix I can try? When i opened it back up the fuse was not bad this time. I did find a PCB-MAIN board, but would love to fix temporarily and upgrade to the other board when available. And...

    Still Getting High Salt/Amps Warning

Thanks, you mean like this? Both of my panels have a heater button. Is the Prologic system less prone to this error occurring? Any other advantages to updating to Prologic?
