    FC jump from adding acid?

I'm not a chemist but I did have a similar question to the original post. When you add HCl to your pool, my understanding is, the H side reacts with the carbonates in the water to form Carbonic Acid. So where does the Cl side go?

Cons to draining equipment ahead of TX deep freeze?

Yes, I have the versaflow and thought it was a complete bypass. Good to know there is some water movement.

Cons to draining equipment ahead of TX deep freeze?

My main concern is with the heater since water does not run through it unless the heater is on. Should I drain it or set it to heat the pool a couple degrees hotter than freezing?

New Pool Build Leander, TX(Austin) - Finishing Touches

Forgetting to order the tile or dig the gas trench are problems we had with our build too. Those are the most annoying delays because they are completely avoidable. Your tile does look just like mine too.

    Reg Micro Fusion Pebble Finish

Same for me. In my opinion my installers over did the acid wash so it is more rough than we expected, especially in the hot tub seating area where you are sitting on it. I think this is an installation issue though and think it is fine otherwise. We were going with NPT Stonescapes Mini-pebble...

pH Adjustment Frequency before and after borates

I plan to eventually add Borates but will wait until my plaster is at least a year old based on the discussion here and elsewhere. It just seems, anecdotally at least, that having mature plaster is the prudent approach.

Some animal poops on my top step.

Hilarious story. Sorry I saw this so late but you need to call up Jase Robertson.

New Pool Build Leander, TX(Austin) - Finishing Touches

I want to see how that faux edge looks when you are done. Our designer tried to sell us on that but I vetoed it and went with the coping edge on the back side.

New pool and just converted to SWG, I think I am on the right track

What about the CH? This is a new pool we only put water in it July 28. Two and a half months ago. Should I raise it? We have hard fill water from a limestone bottom lake so I’m surprised it is not higher but we have had a lot of rain and had it to the top of the coping a few times from rain.

New pool and just converted to SWG, I think I am on the right track

It is a Lesli's Total Poolcare DPD Test Kit 18-576 it is made by Taylor and has all Taylor reagents. It tests for everything the K2005 test has (Free & Total Chlorine or Bromide, pH, acid & Base Demand, TA, CH, CYA) Only difference I see is the box shape and the sample tube shape. I have a...

New pool and just converted to SWG, I think I am on the right track

ok, two days in a row with the Taylor kit. My pH and Chlorine are stable (cloudy days). If I look at this I think I need to add stabilizer to get into the 70-80 range. Then just monitor. I think my FC will come down when the clouds part. I have adjusted the generator down some since the...

New Pool Owner - Constantly High PH

I'm a newbie but I just went through this a few weeks ago so here is what worked for me. 1. Know your pool capacity and how much salt is in it now. For me it was 18,500 gal and 390 ppm salt. I used an electronic salt tester that I calibrated using a known test sample. 2. I guessed based on...

Struggling maintaining Chlorine levels after adding solar heater

Just a shot but Is this solar heater the kind that you pump the water to the panels, raised up and maybe on the roof? Is the SWG before or after the heater in the lines? If the SWG is not the last thing before the returns then maybe your chlorine is staying in the solar heater?
