I'm not in your area but we have had a couple winters now with sub freezing temps, even around 0 for a couple weeks and haven't seen any issues with our travertine. Hope it helps
Some friends of ours was built the same way, no idea what the cost difference would have been versus wall panels. I think the liner would be cheaper than plaster and tile work.
We have 2 deck jets and love them, they help drown out the noisy neighbors and kids of all ages enjoy splashing in them. My in-law recently built a pool and added some as well after being around our pool.
We probably spent around $2500 in additonal dirt, plants, etc. in the first summer afterwards. Since then we have added another $2000 in hardscapes. We did everything DIY and as we learned how we would use the space.
Wow, that operator was very good, nice not hitting huge rock shelves like we do here. We love our sports depth, not once have I wished for a traditional deep end. We had elementary and middle school age girls when we built it now, high school and college age but my nieces and nephews come over...
