I hate my robot - dirt problem

When you remove the robot do you keep it level? This should help, the water drains slower out of the robot but doesn't release the debris. I put one side of the track on the coping while it drains. You need to lift it out from both ends and try to keep it level as best as you can. When you...

Considering SWG for 30k gallon Pool

Have you looked at the pump wattage that it is using at different speeds? My pump only uses 120W at the lowest setting which is 20GPM and my SWG doesn't have any flow issues at that speed. I run my pump 24/7 now that it is pool season and that lets me run the SWG at a lower output rate. I...

    TCell-940 replacement

The T-940 cell should have had a 4 year warranty and outputs the same daily amount of chlorine as the T-15 cell. The T-15 cell should come with a three year warranty, be careful as some only have a one year warranty. The T-940 cell should outlast a T-15 cell as it is designed to last longer...

    Do you trust your SWG?

The best way to solve this issue is to run an OCLT. With SWG pools it is difficult to detect algae at first due to constant chlorine being added that keeps the algae from ever blooming. Usually the first indication of an algae issue is the chlorine is lower than it should be. The pool still...

    Stumped by SWG

If the amps and voltage are in normal parameters then it should be producing chlorine. How old is the cell? The chlorine production rate will drop some with age. Is the pump changing speeds during the run time? If too low of flow it might be turning the SWG off and you don't realize it. Try...

    Stumped by SWG

If it is a 60K cell 12 hours at 100% should be making about 4.5ppm of FC each day for your pool. Get the voltage and amp readings for both sides of the cell. While it is on, read the numbers and then turn off the SWG switch and turn it back on. The 2nd side should be active and compare those...

    Old Salt Cell

Save it, you will never know when you will need to remove the current cell and want to keep the pool running. I always take out my good cell during the winter months and let the pool run with an old worn out cell while I use liquid chlorine during the winter when the water is too cold to...

Salt cells aren't lasting as long as I'd hoped

If you are going to switch over to liquid chlorine soon for the fall/winter you might consider waiting until the spring to buy the cell as that will be 5 months longer on the warranty. I've never noticed a price drop for salt cells during the winter months, if anything they have crept up. This...

Salt cells aren't lasting as long as I'd hoped

You can only get a cell that is rated for 40,000 gallons, T-15, with your system so you are stuck with that size of cell which is undersized for your pool. Like the others have said cleaning the cell shortens the life of it and the need to run it longer than compared to a larger sized cell is...

Dolphin Impeller Constantly Clogs With Hair

I've always have had hair balls wrapped around the impeller on my S300i. The filter catches everything else it seems but the hair somehow gets pass the filters. I've always had the dual filters installed. Removing two screws is all it takes to get to the impeller and then one screw to remove...

Chlorine gets eaten up in 1-2days???

I would add the acid, pool stores usually don't miss the pH by very much. I would add half a gallon now to see how low the pH goes. The gallon would drop the pH to 7.2, that is a large drop at once and is risky if the pool store testing is off and a half gallon will not do much harm.

    Setting expectations about a robot

I have a Dolphin S300i for about 4 years and the motor just died, I bought a new motor assembly replacement for less than $400. That is the only repair that I have had to make. Every now and then the impeller needs to be cleaned and that's about it. They are simple to work on and some repairs...
