(SOLVED) Just added CYA - Can I slam without backwashing?

So I just added CYA (stabilizer in a sock) 2 days ago. Somehow I managed to get algae since then and need to SLAM. Problem is is that backwashing is not recommended in the week following adding CYA. So my options are: 1) Maintain FC in band until after a week then SLAM as normal 2) SLAM without...

To SLAM or not to SLAM

And then the only way to determine I'm done is to do an overnight FC test? Because obviously the other determining factors are already met.

To SLAM or not to SLAM

So first my pH hit the high end of the band at 8.00 so I decided it was time to get my TA in check as well as it was about 150ppm. So I added Muriatic Acid and lowered to 7.20 then I removed my Intex autocleaner from the return of my pump and opened the "aerator" on the valve to add some...

Intex Pool without Support for the Legs

Hi there, I recently got a new home with an Intex 12'x24'x52" already built in the backyard. It's probably been there for 2 maybe 3 years (I'm guessing based on talking to the neighbors and the little squares on the inside liner have worn away which I'm guessing is a sign it's been up for a few...

How to Store Test Kit Equipment

Hi there, How do you guys store your test kit after use? I have the TF-100 but it's probably relevant to most kits. I know I should be rinsing each vial, speed stir cross, cya bottle etc out with tap water. But after that should I just let it air dry? If I'm testing daily does that mean the...

Can I get a bottle of water for multiple tests or do each one on its own?

Just got my TF-100 and I'm wondering if I can go out and get a bottle full of water and then go back inside and use the water as needed for each test. Or should I just get fresh water for each individual test?

Opinions on Mounting Intex Pump to Concrete Pad

My pool is an Intex 12' x 24' rectangular frame above ground pool. It has a Intex SF80110-2. It's a sand filter. The pump and "pre-filter" basket thing is separate from the actual filter itself. Both of these are located on a small 2'x2' concrete pad that was poured just for the pump. This was...
