Okay! Just tested with my Taylor k 2006. Found tab water to be in the order of 150. Taylor set is about 5yrs old so not sure if reagents go bad ?!?

For some reason the pool supply shop was not possitive when I proposed this option...saying something about our water here in Cyprus being very "hard"... I was considering SWCG when I wanted to give up on liquid chlorine and before moving back to trichlor. This is a good time to reconsider it...

The idea ( not fully convinced) is that you can keep the pool sanitary with less chlorine (lower fc level) and as such easier to control infections. Also less trichlor means less water changes to control CYA.

Thanks both for the feedback! The pool was build as follows: Plaster was finished to the top edge of the pool and then the hard wood was screwed onto the surface. The wood was not fully sealed (teak oil was applied but that staff goes away pretty quickly) and as far as I remember no seal was...

Thanks for the feedback. A couple of questions if I may! Say I want to reduce CYA to 50. Should I leave 15% of my old water and replace 85%?? 15% * CYA360 = CYA54 (assuming that CYA in the new water will be nil) So for my 50m3 pool I should replace 43m3 and keep 7m3??
