1 of the support posts is kinked :(

We were just getting ready to open our pool today and noticed that one of the support posts is slightly kinked and the outside, metal wall is a small 'wrinkle'. I called the pool people who set up our pool 3 years ago, but the service department is not open until Tuesday. How serious is this...

Big Dent in bottom of pool

Well, not really. I called the pool place twice and they told me that they would call me back, but that they are very busy :grrrr: I noticed another big dent on the opposite side of the pool close to the edge, too  We looked around the outside edge of the pool, but could not see...

Service department in not open until Monday  Today I noticed another smaller dip about 1 foot over from the big one. Thinking more and more that it must be from an animal :?

Big Dent in bottom of pool

Could it be a mole or some other kind of animal that dug a tunnel there? Should I worry about it? Will it get worse? It definitely was not there yesterday. :hammer: How would we fix that without draining the pool?

Big Dent in bottom of pool

Tonight I noticed a big dent in the bottom of our pool about 4-5 inch diameter and about 4 inches deep about 1 1/2 feet away from the side wall. We have no idea what could have caused that. It looks like a cannon ball was dropped in it. Our pool is just over a year old and we're...

    stupid algae question

It is a terry cloth towel and it was an off-white creamish color. I don't think I have copper issues and I never added algaecide. I did a FCC loss test last night and lost less than 1ppm, yet the pool is still a bit cloudy, so I kept it at shock level today.

    stupid algae question

We had problems with our pool ladder lightly rising when not in use and lowering when in use. :o We were worried that over time this might cause wear on the pool liner. So when we opened the pool this year we decided to cushion the bottom of the ladder with a towel tied around it. It seemed to...

    What's your current pool temp?

We opened up our pool last week and it is already 73F. Got to love that solar blanket. We had snow at the beginning of the month.

    TA is 190

We opened our pool last week. How exciting it was to see the crystal clear water :whoot: - thanks to troublefreepool.com. Didn't know what to expect since this was our first winter. We finally had the water topped off and the filter is running now. I did my first tests CYA 20 TA 190 ph...

    Clorox Outdoor Bleach

I don't think you want to add that to your pool. The ingredient list shows all kinds of chemicals. Plain bleach is the only kind for the pool.

Shocking the pool - 0 cc & FC loss 1 overnight water green

Re: Shocking the pool - 0 cc & FC loss 1 overnight water gre My CYA was closer to 40, but we had soooooo much rain that I had to do tons of backwashing to drain water from the pool. I figured for now the CYA would be okay since we don't get that much sun on the pool anyways anymore and we're...

Shocking the pool - 0 cc & FC loss 1 overnight water green

I'm still a newbie and I'm doing pretty good with the BBB method if the weather is nice and we use the pool. A couple times in Aug and Sept we had highs of only 60 and rain for several days and the pool was neglected. :hammer: So yesterday when I pulled the solar cover off this is what I...

Looking at a craigslist freebie tomorrow

We bought a used pool a few years back and it didn't go so well for us. Most of the plastic footers were either broken or cracked. :hammer: Be sure to check those carefully. Good luck!

    skinny dipping?

Having grown-up in Europe I probably look at things much more open. My parents took us to textile free beaches and I loved returned back to school without any tan lines. I still enjoy trips to the sauna with them on my visits back home. It certainly is a different story here. Our yard...

    Need some education

I'm a newbie myself, but could the greenish color come from something other than algae? I seem to remember that there can be problems with the E-Z pool chemicals. Hope someone else has a better answer. We were told to use E-Z pool, too, but I found this website instead and I love the BBB method...
