I have Tagelius TA100D filter and planning to do a cleanup of the sand in there.. The sand in the filter was never added for over 10 years.. How would I know I have enough sand? what is the approx level should be?

I have just finished tiling my concrete swimming pool (it used to be plaster). So now I have beautiful mosaic glass tiles and epoxy grout. I just filled it with water a couple of days ago and now ready to do the proper balancing. I will definitely go to the local pool store for testing the water...

thank you @mknauss. mostly i am interested in how long the overflow pump runs for infinity pools.. i guess the main pump should be on long enough to run the water through the filter.. so what is the job of the overflow one? :)
