This is my fear. While it hasn’t been that windy I do believe your theory is possible. You Are correct, there really isn’t a way to do a cover on the pool. Additionally, I don’t think a chemical cover would work as the water is constantly flowing over the perimeter edge.

Does anyone have a heat pump calculator that if I for instance put in the ambient temperature, starting water temp, desired temp, pump flow rate, how long it should take to heat up a pool of x gallons with a heat pump of x BTU? My heat pump has always been slow and there is no good calculator...

It appears that the motor has seized. The pump is only approximately 4-5 years old. Thoughts on replacing the motor vs the entire pump?

No signs of a leak, motor appears to be seized. Even the fan won’t turn.

I am taking everything apart but when I reach in I cannot move the impeller nor do I feel an obstruction.

While I did not take the cover off the fan I did try to stick a screwdriver in and manually tried to manipulate the fan and it didn’t budge. I would be surprised if it really is seized as it is only about 4-5 years old. My gut is that it is stuck due to being off for 9 months during the...
