Heat Pump By-pass/ two 3-way diverter valves or one with check-valve

I have started the plumbing for by-passing the heat pump but ran into a concern. According to all instructions the check-valve should be at the lowest point of the plumbing. This is not quite possible for me because after the heater the returns then run underground. Will the check-valve work...

Should the heat pump have a by-pass for the water

I have a question on my pool plumbing. Should the heat pump have a by-pass for the water? My concern is that if the heat pump fails [leaks] that I will be unable to run the pump and filter. Is this something I should be concerned with and have it done? Here is a pic of my current set-up.

Just clean by hosing off. Is there a recommended product for cleaning? Prefer not to use Murtic Acid.

I have always been able to run the lowest speeds with no flow problems since I've had this setup. The problem I am having is after a while on the...

Buffalo, NY - Gunite Saltwater Pool Build

Can't seem to find your post, but I thought somewhere you asked about stamped color concrete. My patio below the pool is that and I no longer coat it. It gets way too slick, especially with kids playing. The concrete by my pool is colored with the border stained also it is swirled, I think it...

Buffalo, NY - Gunite Saltwater Pool Build

Great looking build. I also live in Buffalo and have a HeatWave SuperQuiet SQ125. The reason I got a heat pump was because I have solar panels on the house. Being 100% honest I prefer the natural gas heater. It is much faster and much hotter. I really only run the heater in mid May and late Sept...
