    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Any ideas on how to prevent debris from falling out of the bot when removing it from the pool? I've tried slowly picking it up and also turning it horizontal and then lifting it out of the water, but still get some junk falling back into the pool. I don't think it's coming out of the bottom...

Same. Currently using a can of air (instead of running my compressor hose to where I charge/store the robot).

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Saw your pool in another post or perhaps earlier in this MEGA thread. At first, I honestly thought you were somewhere in the Mediterranean. Pretty nice for Philly! Really nice setup and quite the backyard escape. I get it with the plaster though. When we had ours redone, I was religious about...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Some here in this MEGA thread have reported that the black treads have made marks on their plaster. I haven't noticed anything yet but my pool is very dirty still ( 2 cycles in and still needs work). If it isn't dirty or there isn't much debris, I'd continue to brush it to stir up the plaster...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

Hard to see from the attached photo but it does look like threads to me. I'm guessing it was cheaper to use a threaded component vs creating a new one. The rubber grommet does indeed go over the threads which likely help it stay on as you suggest but unfortunately, they don't seem to keep the...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

My S1 just arrived today (Thursday). I ordered from Lowe's on Sunday for $500 with a 3 year extended warranty for another $70. I noticed that round part of the charging port is threaded. The part that the rubber cap goes into. I wonder if this is a remnant of an older design iteration? To me, a...

Aiper S1 at Lowes or Home Depot? (w/extended warranty)

Well I took the plunge on an Aiper S1 for $500 from Lowes with a 3 year extended warranty for another $70. It's cleaning my very dirty pool as we speak. Will post back how it goes over time. Wish me luck :-)

    Shopping for new Cleaner

Sorry to hear that! I just ordered an Aiper S1. I can keep you posted on how well it does. I think you did amazingly well and definitely got your money's worth for 9 years.

Expert in Cordless Pool Cleaning Robots – Tips & Recommendations for Purchase and Discussion

Glad to hear your cordless cleaner is still going strong! My guess as to why it doesn't get as much attention as say, the Aiper S1, is the interest/hope that a $500 robot will be as capable and reliable as one that costs almost 3x. Plus marketing....

    Shopping for new Cleaner

Simple is best. Robotic cleaners typically have a 3-5 yr lifespan. Pressure/suction side cleaners can last much longer and repairs are much cheaper. 9 years for a robotic cleaner, especially in the post-lockdown era, would be an anomaly IMO. But I'd love to be proven wrong!

    Recs for pool cleaner

Pool cleaners are like modeling in the research/technical world. "All models are wrong, some are useful." So, all pool cleaners suck, some suck less than others. If you have a suction or pressure side cleaner that does a decent job, replace it because it will far outlast robotic cleaners...

Aiper S1 at Lowes or Home Depot? (w/extended warranty)

I tend to agree with that logic although mine was a 2019 and didn't last very long (and I was careful to treat it well 😕).

Aiper S1 at Lowes or Home Depot? (w/extended warranty)

Thanks! Yeah I've looked into the EVO line but I'm not sure I want to drop $800 on a 604 or 614. I looked at the EVO 502 for $500 but no one seems to have much experience with it. At the end of the day, if these all seem to last just a couple to a few years, I'd like to stay as cheap as possible...

Aiper S1 at Lowes or Home Depot? (w/extended warranty)

Lots of threads about it but in my case the impeller motor failed due to the brushed motors filling up the motor housing with carbon debris. I took it all apart and wanted to just replace the $20 motor but they are hard to come by and the entire motor assembly is very expensive ($400+) and...
