Good sized rust spot on the inside of my pool wall, what can I do?

Good idea. I probably won't tackle it until a few weeks but I'll make sure to post the results here!

Good sized rust spot on the inside of my pool wall, what can I do?

Thanks for all of the suggestions! This is the only rust spot I could find around my entire pool so that's the good thing. I will try sanding it off, applying bondo, and then spray painting it with rust-oleum. I'll cover it all up with sheet metal and tape it off to keep the new liner protected...

Good sized rust spot on the inside of my pool wall, what can I do?

I'm replacing the liner on my about 18 year old above ground pool and came across this nasty rust spot. It looks like it was taped over before the previous liner was installed and it just got worse. In fact, the last liner was extremely thin where the rust spot was even though the liner just...

Big rip in vinyl liner, not sure what to do for winter.

I have a 10k galloon above ground pool with a vinyl liner. When I was vacuuming it today the liner ripped between the ground and the pool wall, and a lot of water came gushing out. So far I out a towel over the about 8 inch rip in the liner. I wanted to winterize it tomorrow, but now that it's...

    Filter drain question

This is my current filter setup with hoses. The diverter valve is there because I have two returns on my pool and one goes through a heater. However one of the ends of the valve did crack and is leaking and I don't want to pay around $50 for a new one. Would I be able to use PVC to create...

    Filter drain question

This might be a silly question, but I have a Hayward DE Perflex Filter for my above ground pool and it has a drain at the bottom of the filter. I know that it's used for when I clean the filter by draining out all of the old DE and recharging it. But is it okay to use the drain to lower the...

    Diverter Valve Leak

I have an above ground pool (about 10k gallons) and a Hayward DE Filter. The water that comes out of the filter goes through a diverter valve because I have two returns on my pool, one at the top and bottom. The left connection on the diverter valve (that goes to the heater) has a slight crack...

    Pool heater won't stay lit

I took the flame sensor out, scrubbed it with a rag, then screwed it back in. The connection on the board for the flame sensor looks fine including the wiring but I can try reinserting it. I don't have the equipment to test if it works or not though.

    Pool heater won't stay lit

I did clean out the orifices and I didn't notice anything visible blocking them but I still shot them all with compressed air and stuck a pipe cleaner inside. I would rather not take the entire gas line apart but if that's what I have to do I'll do it. Could it be low gas pressure if it lights...

    Pool heater won't stay lit

I have a Hayward H150FDN natural gas pool heater and when I went to turn it on after a few minutes the heater gives me an IF error code and won't stay lit. After looking it up the error code means ignition failure. I can smell gas when the heater tries to fire up so I assume the gas pressure is...
