    Dead IC20?

Yup, of course I read that on here AFTER the pool builder installed it  I typically run 24/7 at 60% (Kick the pump down to the lowest I can and still maintain flow for the IC20 for 12 hours at night). Planning on a 40 if/when it needs to be replaced, assuming you can ever buy them again...

    Dead IC20?

So I have an IC20, about 3 years old. Last year I had to replace the flow switch and all was fine after that. It's been fine until this week. We had a power outage, and when it powers up now, I get no LEDs in the row showing the percentage selected. Flow turns green, but then that's it. It's...

Link2O being replaced by Pentair Home

Thanks! I emailed them at an address I found in the app reviews ([email protected]) and it took them a little while to respond, but turns out it was an issue with the email client I use on my phone. I copied the link into a browser and it verified fine. So far I'm liking the new app...

Link2O being replaced by Pentair Home

Curious if anyone has tried to switch lately (the last couple weeks)? I've happily been using Link2O and figured I should try to switch since they claim Link2O will be disabled. When I open the app, it asks for an email, etc and then says it's sending a verification link. When I get the link, I...

    IC20 low salt/high temp?

I'll check that thread, thanks! Though the temp IS what is being used, I have no other sensors. This is a simple setup with an inteliconnect, that's the reading being reported by the SWCG on the SWCG page of the app.

    IC20 low salt/high temp?

I noticed the salt level my chlorine generator is reporting this year has been lower that what I measure with my Taylor test kit (I see 3400 vs 2900 reported by the chlorine generator). The pool temp has been pretty chilly, I think yesterday the chlorine generator was reporting 71 deg. Note all...

Has anyone used the new Pentair Intelliconnect or the Hayward VS Omni Pump?

Sure, I'll try to get some pics tonight....

Installing SWG with Pentair VS Intelliflo

That's why I suggested the intelliconnect, it will control the SWCG so that you don't have to run the pump 24/7, and isn't that much more $$. It also will control a light and heater.

Installing SWG with Pentair VS Intelliflo

The other option is look into an Intelliconnect automation system. It's not much more expensive than a good timer (I think mine was 300-350) and safeguards against the SWCG running without the pump. For your Intelliflow pump, it will let you control speed, on/off times and the SWCG output % from...

    So confused.

Just wanted to second Uncle Salty's recommendation for the speed stirrer. Best money I spent (other than the test kit). It makes it so easy when you're adding reagents drop by drop since they're immediately mixed.

Lower output for lower water temp?

So over the course of the summer pool temp got up to around 87, and I was running our swcg at 60% and maintaining around 4-5ppm, my cya is a little low, at around 50. The last week or so the weather has been much cooler, so water temp has dropped to around 77. With the same settings, my chlorine...

    Salt pool and chlorine

The other thing to look at here (and I fought with this too) is your CYA is low for salt water. TFP (and I think most SWG manufacturers) recommends around 70 for CYA. The chlorine generated by the SWG is unstabilized, so bakes off pretty quickly in the Sun. You need the CYA to keep it from doing...

Has anyone used the new Pentair Intelliconnect or the Hayward VS Omni Pump?

I can confirm the SWG (Intellichlor) does NOT need to be wired to a relay. If the pump is not running, the intelliconnect sets the chlorine output to 0 on the SWG via the RS485 connection (it doesn't power it off). It works this way even if the pump is wired to a relay instead of rs485.

How often is normal to adjust ph?

This is very interesting, new pool end of last season, so my first season taking care of it and have been struggling with pH. My TA is 70, and I have to add about a quart of acid every few days. This is with the SWCG running at 60%. I wasn't sure if it was due to the SWCG, or the new surface...

    Skimmer lid raised above patio?

Gotcha, thanks. They fixed it today, and they did fill in under the skimmer (without me even asking!). PB said it was just an oversight by his guy that originally did the pavers, since the skimmer lid wasn't in yet.
