    SP3400VSP Failed, need replacement recommendations

All right! That all makes excellent sense. Just a couple questions before I place an order. I see Total HP and Rated HP. I assume the Rated HP is used to calculate THP? In keeping with Hayward parts, how do you like this motor for my situation...

    SP3400VSP Failed, need replacement recommendations

Thanks for the response Mark! The pump displays "DRIVE ERROR! Pump has stalled". Another thread on TFP seems to indicate that this error code, along with a freely spinning impeller, is probably caused by a failed drive controller which is currently $585 on Amazon. Given this units lousy...

    SP3400VSP Failed, need replacement recommendations

So the original pump was a single speed 1hp Hayward Super II Pump (per original pool order paperwork) that must have failed. The PPO swapped that failed pump for a new SP3400VSP that is supposedly rated to replace up to a 3 hp pump? I always ran it at 100% since I only use it for in floor...

    New SWG Troubles

Wiser individuals will soon chime in, but your CSI is off the charts high which is causing your scaling problem. You seem to have some misconceptions about the procedure used to lower TA. Get your PH down quick, and raise your chlorine levels with bleach, then study up on the TA lowering...

Hayward T15 High Salt/Amps Spa Only

That's probably what is going on. I'm not sure where I got 3700ppm salt to be normal, but I checked the manual today and 3400ppm is the high end of the normal range. I guess I do in fact have high salt and the higher temperatures are causing this problem which simply hasn't manifested itself...

Hayward T15 High Salt/Amps Spa Only

When I watch diagnostics, it always runs around 7.2 amps. I haven't actually caught the indicated amp level right before it trips off. A 400,000btu is plumbed in, but the heater isn't running when I notice the high salt/amps error. Of course, any time I try to replicate the problem, everything...

Hayward T15 High Salt/Amps Spa Only

The pool water and spa temperatures are the same for the most part. I only heat the spa as needed, which hasn't been for quite some time. Although pool/spa temps have been hovering around the low 90's. I'll start with turning off the SWG in spa mode and hope that's all it is. Thanks!

Hayward T15 High Salt/Amps Spa Only

Hi all, quick question: My T15 cell with Aqualogic controller is giving me an occasional High Salt/Amps error code when I have the valves set to SPA. I have never seen the error in Pool mode. Is this an early sign that my board needs to be resoldered/replaced? Is there some unpublished minimum...

Using Standard CYA - Dot disappears at 40, not 50

I didn't have a lot of confidence in my CYA test results so I ordered up the CYA standard solution to confirm I was doing it correctly. Like you, I couldn't find proper lighting, hold technique, star alignment etc...to make it work correctly. I found that filling the CYA reagent to the top of...

Cloudy blue pool after 1 week

Hi m127, great group of folks here will get you squared away. Low priority, but wanted to let you know most SWG's require +-3200ppm salt for proper operation. If you truly only have 3ppm, that would at least partially explain why yours wasn't working. CFM

    Pool/Spa Spillover Setup

I just found another thread that details changing the cams in the actuator itself to establish new valve positions. I thought it was only possible to go full on or off with no intermediate setting. It sounds like I can leave just a small amount of return to the spa when in pool mode. My spillway...

    Pool/Spa Spillover Setup

I haven't gotten into the programming enough to know if I can do that or not, but if I can, I'll do it! Sounds like a good setup. CFM

    Pool/Spa Spillover Setup

I sure appreciate the responses. If nothing else, it got me thinking enough about the system and I am pretty sure I now have a plan of attack. First, txnole, "Spillway" is a setting on the Aqualogic controller that can be enabled or disabled. My valves are automated so that when "Pool" is...

    Pool/Spa Spillover Setup

Hello all, I've been reading these forums for the last couple of months trying to get smart on pool care, and I must say, if there was an award for most welcoming bunch of people on the interweb, this group would take it home no contest. I can't thank you enough for making this wealth of...
