    PVC connections not holding

It is surprising you say you are able to reuse the previously used fittings - even with sanding: If the joint has been allowed to cure overnight, you should not be able to pull apart a fused joint. The primer and adhesive melt into the fittings' plastic and they weld together and the volatile...

AA Treatment - Speed Run (trial)!! Will it work? You might be surprised!

jesse-99 I tried out a modification of your 'speed run' AA treatment and I am pleased with the results. I dosed the Ascorbic Acid at about 2X the required amount based on volume of my pool, skipped Polquat but because my pool is ~15 ft x 32 ft, I covered it with a black out tarp. I let the AA...

Polyfill and iron binding during AA treatment

Hi  JoyfulNoise - I was typing while you were explaining! So, the polyfill is filtering the very small iron precipitation particles! That makes sense and eliminates 'magic' !! ✨️ With a mechanism of action described, I will spend money on polyfill fiber and give this iron removal method a try...

Polyfill and iron binding during AA treatment

Yes, precipitation of iron would make sense for mechanical capture of iron in the polyfill fiber - and precipitation would require creation of the right condition(s), i.e. supersaturation, or addition of a precipitation promotor. Putting polyfill in the skimmer or in a bag/container connected...

Polyfill and iron binding during AA treatment

Hi - a question for the chemists on the TF Pool forum: Does polyfill fiber have a chemical binding action to sequestered iron? I see many posts saying to use polyfill to filter out iron but there is no explanation on the mechanism of action. Iron in water is in solution, and this is not a...

AA Treatment - Speed Run (trial)!! Will it work? You might be surprised!

jesse-99 - very nice post on your methods and results!! Thank you very much! A side note - you have provided an answer to me on mysterious clouding of my pool water when using various sequestrants and poly for algae control. There have been times when I think everything is going well and then...

    Crazy pool water chemistry issues?

Not my pool or problem 😀 but I used hang with jetskiers and was blown away when I saw this video. The rider has skills and bravado and his ski has amazing horsepower and pump thrust! Nice looking pool and the water looks pretty good!

    Crazy pool water chemistry issues?

For all the normal water chemistry issues TFP handles so well, here is a possible outlier: what products and protocol break down combustion by-products, unburned hydrocarbons??!!

Pool green for over a year.

Great job with the pool rescue! I started using the thread 'watch' function just to keep track of your progress. Your efforts were amazing and the results equally amazing. Your own pool speaks just as loudly - phenomenal!
