    Algae is winning.

I logged on with phone, found my post, tried to upload photos. Got "file too large" for even 1 photo. sizing a photo will be beyond my patience and I seriously doubt my phone would survive another trip across the room. Maybe I'll ses a young neighbor soon.

That makes sense. I did NOT vac. the grey dustlike stuff from the indentations in the floor, thinking it was airborne particulates that sank.

So sorry, I meant OTO. the turn yellow drops that are inaccurate. I now use Taylor DPD & Titrate. Thanks

    Algae is winning.

1 - I erroneously thought if my CYA reading was between 50 and 60 that it would be 55, not knowing CYA is on a logarithmic (?) scale. I thought if 20 was good, 26 would be better. 2 - I measured FC after sundown each day, and just after sunup the next day. The OCLT were the 12 hour...

    Algae is winning.

I’ve been a TFP member for several years but seldom post as I find my questions answered using the search feature, but my current situation has me confused. I started a SLAM using pool store 10.5% sodium hypochlorite on my in-ground SWG vinyl pool, Aug. 12, due to persistant alge growth on the...

How often do you have to add water to pool?

I measure the water level on the 2nd step against the handrail 2x a day if I think I have a leak. 8 am to 8 pm always shows a larger loss (even unused) than 8 pm to 8 am. If/when the loss is significant enough to worry about, I use the bucket method to double-check the loss. Georgia weather...

Will I see a real benefit increasing pipe size.

Thank You so much for the good simple answers. I always want to do the best possible job with my projects which involves "overthinking". A benefit from all of yesterday's reading is that I now know exactly what markings my PVC should have.

Will I see a real benefit increasing pipe size.

I am assembling parts to convert my 35k gallon I.G. vinyl pool to saltwater. I have a new Circupool RJ 60 SWG and a new Vgreen 1.65 VS pump that I will wire 230V. The pool has 1 skimmer and 1 drain (11/2" ea.), Hayward S210 sand filter, and a Hayward side mount multiport, (1 1/2" pipe from the...

Questions and advice wanted to convert to Salt

I’ve been a member of TFP since 2019 and never had to ask a question as I’ve been able to find my answers by reading through previous posts, knowledgeable answers and following them. This has provided clearer water and less expendature for me than in my previous 17 yrs. of ownership. I now have...
