Got off the plane from San Diego today and had a text from the PM saying he needed us to call him. We had allowed them to work, I.e. leveling and cleaning up, prepping for pavers, while we were gone. DH called him back and he informed us of the problem. Since we would be home in about 30 minutes, the PM said he could show us.
The original plan was to intermix the old pavers with the new. So it seems the new concrete pavers are just slightly bigger than the ones we put in about 10 years ago and therefore will not join together with the old properly. So their designer, the one who did the pool design, came up with a plan to put a border (like a brick soldier course) at the break. This is what we have at the edge of our existing paver driveway. They would then change the direction of the paver. Our driveway and patio are laid at a 45 degree, but the new part would be at 90. We tweeked the design a bit more to have the border go around the whole pool area and all is good.
Next issue-the pavers we all agreed on that were the match to the existing- are not! Once they got them all delivered here and some of them laid out, everyone, including the PB owner and the PM, agreed that these did not match. So, they are going to have what we now think are the correct ones delivered and the others taken back. No charge to us. IF they are in stock, then they will be out tomorrow to continue. If not, then we will have to wait. Oh well. These things happen.
Scuppers are in so I will be looking at them tomorrow to choose which one I like. I didn't realize these were Pentair brand (not that it really makes a difference).
That's about it for an update. Oh, and they drained the pool today before the paver guys came. Yeah! And I asked the PM about unions on all the equipment and he said yes they do in case you have to replace it!
One last thing, skimmer covers and deck drains all are brass! Didn't realize this. Should look great!
