Re: Bought a Pool and it came with a houses.
Hi PAGirl, funny you should ask about the sand, last night when I cleaned the Nautilus and saw the sand I thought, wonder where the sand came from, even mentioned it to one of my daughters. Then the this morning I checked the pressure on the filter and had to back flush and I had my duh moment, or maybe it is a senior moment, they run together anymore.
Anyway, yea, filter would be a potential, but first, I way over exaggerated how much sand was in the filter, it was really probably no more then 4 - 5 heaping tablespoons of sand, so not that much. On top of that, the previous owners really didn't take care of the pool, if it got vacuumed then it was manually I have doubts on how often that happened. So my thought is over the past year or more, the sand has probably accumulated. So not a concern at the moment but will monitor to see if I am still picking up sand but expect it is the result of year(s) of neglect.

Thought I would mention a funny story, so we had the pool party and we all waited and jumped in the pool at the same time to christen the pool.
Immediately after that, I broke out my box of magic erasers and rags and we all cleaned the top railing around the pool

It was all chalky and would get on your hands and drip in the pool, with the 8 of us, only took a few minutes to get it all clean.
The only thing that didn't come off were the black water lines on the fiberglass steps. I guess just work on the some more with the magic erasers to see if it will come off over time.
Fun time plus a cleaner pool. Figured you guys would appreciate that story.
