New Pool Build - Conroe, TX - LOTS of pics! Come say hi Y'all.

I love the little touch of a stone door to the gas valve.
Cute.
So Lava rock or glass?
Ah, posts passed in the ether, rock it is?

What are they putting in the bottom of yours?
I filled mine with drainage rock up to just under the fire ring, then lava rock from there.

You are Propane right?
I am activating the emergency alert system.....

!!!BE CAREFUL when lighting!!!!
Propane is heavier than air so it will naturally sink in your pit.
If you turn on gas and don't have lighter ready, you could fill the pit with gas.
Then you finally get the lighter going and at best you will lose your eyebrows.
At worst, well you might end up with a much bigger fire pit and a pool full of lava rock.

Natural Gas is lighter than air so I don't have this risk.

Here ends the emergency alert...

They provide lava rock - but I will upgrade to glass - but it will take me a while. Too many other things need my $ right now. Like Mr. Electricity, Mrs. Water, and my husband likes to eat.

Ha! That was so funny! I am grateful for the Emergency Alert. We haven't ever had propane anything - well, other than grills. So we will be very careful. They put in a drain for water to get out at the bottom - and then I think they are putting in the ring (kit) - that is like a bowl that holds the rock - if that makes sense. I am not sure about drainage rock. I haven't actually even heard of that. Do you have pictures? I will make sure that I DO THE LIGHTING and not my husband, the firebug. :)

I am not sure how much I would need. Once they put the insert in and I can actually SEE it and determine how much - that will determine WHEN! A friend has it in her indoor fireplace and she had to get $800 worth. That just seems super crazy high right now.
