Another Pool Build in Cypress, TX

I had to leave as Kelly came by to pick up some green. Kelly lives about 4 miles from me so it's not much for him to swing by my place. He told me that the tile guy installs them and the plaster crew just adds the plaster around them- beach shells that is. and wipes them clean. It rained a little today as I got home and seen some water in the pool again. It was a little so no biggie. Anyhow it looks like thing are looking up. Keeping fingers crossed :)

I want to go faster and faster!

Lol, it's coming, it's coming. The waiting is the hardest part. Patience isn't one of my virtues, and some nights before the "big days" I feel as though I will go absolutely out of my mind. You have had a lot of activity this past week and it is really coming together, it looks so amazing. I am not familiar with the gunite pool process, but from reading these threads you are really close to water, yes?

Yesssss!!! In fact, we're ready for the plaster or pebble finish! Saturday, the clean-up crew told me that on the day of the plaster, that crew will actually spray down the gunite with acid to clean it well, and they will scrape the rough edges or globs of gunite to make the shell smooth. Then they immediately plaster/pebble. From what I've read, they wait 24 hours and come back and do the acid wash over the pebble. And then we fill her up!!!! With water, that is!

It's good to know you and others understand how excited and impatient we all get. I have had my phone glued to my hip all day with the landline rolled over to my cell. I don't want to miss any calls. I THINK someone will call us the night before the pebble crew shows up. But if it's left up to our PB, that may not happen. That's another reason Paris and I have tried to keep in touch these last few days. We want to scrape up as much info as we can! So, it's possible the pebble crew will show up in the morning. I've going to be - can't think of the word - until I know when they're coming or know they're here! (not anxious, not edgy, I still can't think of the word)

Thanks for your continued support, Ascew! I really appreciate it!

Suz I am
Head over heels for your travertine!!!! Completely envious it looks gorgeous.

Also, cannot believe you are finally in the home stretch. You must be climbing the walls. It's going to be one of the most unique and beautiful pools ever[emoji3]

Who is the tile guy Kelly mentioned? Is it a tile guy with the plaster crew, or is this another stage to be done before the plaster? Our plaster clean-up crew on Saturday told me their guys would put down the toe and trim tiles. If it's not the plaster crew, then I want to stay on top of this and get the tile guy out here pronto! It doesn't sound like your toe and trim tiles have already been installed, but have they? As usual, I'm confused.

We had a similar rain yesterday. There's a little bit of water in our deep end, but I think most of it came from the ground water seeping up. Also, my son agreed (with some begging) to power wash the pool. I think he was surprised how much gunk he got off. He told me chunks of the yellow and orange stuff running below the return pipes fell off. It may be overkill, but I'll know we did whatever we could to make things better. It also helps us pass the time - well, helps my son pass the time!! LOL!!!
Thanks for keeping in touch, Paris!

Kim: Thanks! And will do - definitely! That's perfect - climbing the walls. I'm trying not to do that, since I don't know when the plaster day is. It would be an awful waste of energy if it doesn't happen for days! So, I'm posting on here to keep busy. I think the decking crew will be back tomorrow. So if there's no plaster, that will give us something to watch and keep an eye on. It beats nothing happening!

Since we don't know when the Pebble Sheen installers are coming (and it could be possible they just show up tomorrow), I went down into the pool to try some ideas of how to place the trim tiles on the deep end bench. It's so cool now that the pool has been drained and cleaned to be able to walk down into the pool. It seems much bigger than when I'm looking out my back windows!!!

Let me know what you think....

Option #1. Tiles set on the square.

Same option but viewed from above.

Option #2: Tiles set on point (on diamonds).

Same option but viewed from above.

Option #3: Whatever suggestions you guys may have..... Too many tiles? What number would you suggest? Different placement on the bench? Anything!

Thanks so much! I'm not losing sleep over this decision, but it would be nice to know what ya'll think!

I preferred the first option. Second one looked a little busy to me. I like the continuous line like you show. We did occasional tiles but the row stands out more.
