Another Pool Build in Cypress, TX

I prefer option 1 too. Toe tile is really not needed in a pool maintained with the TFP method. Your water will be crystal clear. The bench is not deep enough to require toe tile...you'll be able to see it just fine.
Adding toe tile is mainly a fun factor decision :)

You have more confidence in me than I do. Thank you! Are you thinking maybe I should skip the toe tiles on the bench? No judgment here - only gathering thoughts, opinions, and suggestions.

I understand and if he tells you different please text me.
I have 80+ linear ft of those beach shells to install on the tan shelf, all steps, jacuzzi and pool seats.
So I was wanting to make sure that I was prepared for this installation. :)

No kidding!!! They'd better install all those gorgeous pieces! All your places with the beach shells are going to look so wonderful!! I've said it before.... I wish I had ordered less of the peacock tiles and twice as many of the beach shells. Each little piece is so unique and exquisite. I'm the kind who could spend all day looking at every little tiny piece and marveling over each one. So... probably best I didn't do that. I'd never do my water exercises - just float around looking at the beach shells!!!

I will call him about mid afternoon. He usually sounds a little less stressed then, and the odds are better he answers. I'll text you one way or the other. You seem to have the latest word. We will have to see what he says today!
Suzy.

I find the bench tiles to be very helpful to see the benches easier when swimming towards them. And as mentioned they are a great place to add splashes of color, kind of like accent pillows on a couch, just that you can't change them.

We added glass toe tile to all our benches and steps. Our PB didn't think it was necessary because you can see all benches and steps clearly. We added it anyway because it looks gorgeous. So glad we did.
If it were up to me, rather than having glass squares on the bench and beach shells on the shelf, I would probably pick only one type of tile (beach shells!) and use that on all steps and benches to stay consistent. Just my opinion :)

I agree with you about the beach shells. But.... hindsight is 20-20, and I don't have enough beach shells. Boy, I would if I could!

The decking people called and will not be here today. I can do with a nice quiet day at home with no workers and no errands to run. So, in between chores, I will post some more photos.

Earlier I went out and placed the tiles for the steps. Dare I guess what the vote will be this time????

Option 1: Tiles on point (diamond) looking down

Same option, looking up

Option 2: Tiles on square looking down

Same option, looking up

Thanks for you help!!! Not a big decision, but it's fun to see what you guys think!

Thanks! That does look familiar. I think I had just forgotten. They look fabulous!

I had forgotten what a mess things were earlier in the build! They will definitely look better with a cleaned and pebbled sun shelf!!
Thank you, Marla! What part of Houston do you live? I think you said somewhere, but I've forgotten.

Near the Med Center

I'm in awe! That area scares me to death for driving. I think it's beautiful with all the old trees, but the street circles and mammoth buildings boggle my mind!

Well, I feel silly....... :pale: I just noticed your location in your signature - which I've seen how many times???? Duh! I knew I had seen your location listed somewhere! Lol!!!!
