Suz, the pictures are great. I can really see the progress. The end is very near. The travertine is beautiful! I do see how close your crepe myrtle is to the pool. I think anything that close will drop something into the pool. Years ago, we had a tree far away from our above ground pool. It had a large canopy (the tree); therefore, when the wind blew (and in west Texas the wind ALWAYS blew) we always ended up with tree leaves and other debris in the pool. (I think it had some other type of berry or peapod). It was annoying, but we dealt with it then.
So, I'm truly hoping that you will be able to enjoy your tree. It's beautiful and placed so nicely as a backdrop for that corner of the pool.

The paved slope looks good. I would not have liked a step there either.
Beautiful design on your pool. It may take your PB longer, but it looks as though everything is quality work. That's a plus and worth the few days of swimming you may miss (in my opinion).
