So glad I didn't give up!!! TFP, all the way!

Re: Should I just give up? Can

Last year I was a first time pool owner with a green pool
I found this site by chance and boy am I glad I did
I followed the advice here and went from green to sparkling clear in about two weeks
Like some have said don't bother with the pool store
I went once and when I told them I do my own testing they looked at me like I had two holes in my head
Good luck with your pool and have fun this summer

Re: Should I just give up? Can

The water was still real cloudy, my husband poured in some clarifier, and now I have what looks like little with things floating in the water.

I am slaming! I think the floating stuff is gone .... for now!

The "floating stuff" was a probably a direct result of the clarifier your husband added. Clarifiers take suspended solids and "clump" them together - that's how they clarify. The result is that you end up with these little clumps of "stuff" in your pool - the idea is that you turn off the filter, the clumps settle to the bottom, and you vacuum them out, thereby speeding up the clarification process.

Keep going with the advice being given here - these guys know their stuff and you'll be looking at crystal clear water soon.. just stay on top of those chlorine levels as things can go backwards in a hurry if you let them drop too far. :)

Re: Should I just give up? Can

CC of 5... it's still high so you'll have to keep SLAM'ing. But you're missing one somewhere... lol FC+CC=TC you have 20, 5 and 26?

Maybe you can pass hubby the pool brush and have him brush the pool. :goodjob:

Re: Should I just give up? Can

You're good tonight. Check it tomorrow and if it dips below 16 raise it back up. :goodjob: You're getting on the high end of the SLAM with an FC at 20. Don't go over it.
