Question ya ll. I opened my pool today and I have a question about this jandy valve. I’m still learning….

If the handle is in the center position, does this mean all water flow is blocked?

When I started pool with handle in center I got no flow from skimmer or jets, when I turned it to this skimmer position it works.

I’m just asking because I coulda swore last year this value was set to the center but it looks like that would block all flow (like what happened today)

Is this correct on how these work?

Thanks

If I set it this way. I get nothing in skimmer or jets. I do know have a main drain just a skimmer and another suction port on the wall I get for vaccum
You see the OFF label? That indicates the port that is blocked. You blocked the suction intake into the pump.

Turn that handle 180 degrees so OFF is not on any of the three ports.

It doesn’t turn that way. Are u saying the long handle should be facing the pump? Did my pool guy install this backwards when closing my pool? 🤦‍♂️
Lossen the nut on the handle and pull it up a bit as you turn it to get it past the stops.

The handle only fits one way.

The diverter rotates 360 degrees.

The only thing that is stopping it is the stops on the bottom of the handle.

Put the handle on the stem as little as possible to turn the stem.

Yup, now your pump is pulling equally from both pipes.

Next thing is to figure out what each pipe connects to.

How many skimmers do you have?

Do you have a Main Drain?
Thanks so much…. I don’t know why I kept missing the stop piece on the handle 🤣🤦‍♂️ so I have a skimmer, and I have Another port on the wall by the skimmer that sucks in water also, I always assumed it was for a vaccum. Just bought the house two years ago

Go see that you have suction and water going into both the skimmer and vacuum port.

Then slowly turn the handle for the OFF end to go over the left or right pipe. Listen if the pump begins starving for water and makes noises. If it does stop. If the pump is happy put OFF on one of the pipes.

Then go look at the skimmer and vacuum port and see which is not taking water in.

Then do the same test on the other pipe.

Yup one is for skimmer and one is vacuum port. I don’t even use that Port, I got a cover for it

Yup one is for skimmer and one is vacuum port. Just tested it. Funny I don’t even use that Port, I got a cover with holes on it so water can get pulled in but no debris
