Intellicenter not following Pool schedule, when Spa is being used during schedule end time

I have a bug/issue with the intellicenter 2 system I have. I have a pool and spa on the system. The pool has a schedule which it follows. 10am - 4pm. But if I turn the spa on, at let's say at 3:30pm, and use it for 1 hour, then turn off the spa at 4:30pm, when the spa is turned off, the pool will go back to running again, as if by turning on the spa and using it during the time the pool schedule would turn the pool off, it ignores the schedule and the pool will be on and won't turn off. How can I set it up that the pool will follow the schedule during its end time even when the spa is being used during that time frame? Right now I just go and manually turn off the pool when I am finished using the spa, since it is ignoring the schedule to turn the circuit off.

Try upgrading to 2.026 from the Pentair website using a USB stick. Lots of bugs are fixed.

I just updated it today via USB stick. The schedule shut off for the day. But I'm going to try it out tomorrow and see if that did the trick.

So I’ve updated the firmware, and still have the issue. This morning I turned on the spa because I wanted to have a morning soak, and when the pool schedule started at 10am, it turned off the spa and switched to the pool schedule and started flowing cold water into the spa since I have it overflow.

I am wondering if it has something to do with circuits with the schedule?

That is one of the dumb things the IntelliCenter does. A schedule starting will take control and override current settings. There should be a DO NOT OVERIDE or LOCK button to tell it to stay on the current settings. Call Pentair Support and complain.

I run my pool 24/7 and don’t see the problem.

Schedule the pool to start before you will ever want to use the spa and you will never see the problem.

Same thing happens if you are using the spa and your spillover schedule starts. It is annoying.

Yup - when we are using the spa around "spillway" time I either have to have my phone right next to me so I can turn off spillway or I'll walk over to the pad and put the intellivalve in service mode so it doesn't switch 😕

Now that I think about it, I have not tested this under the new firmware. Looking at my email history from december 2023, the team lead stated this was one of the items that was to be resolved in a 2.2x firmware update that never materialized. Assuming water temp is over 60° around 1 tomorrow, I'll test the theory ( we have a 15m spillway schedule at 1:30)

I tested today on 3.02 and same behavior. The SPA was turned on while the pool schedule was active and turned off after the pool off time and the pool remained on afterwards. Would be nice if they fixed this…
You need to report it to Pentair Support. The more they hear about the problems the higher priority the fix will have.

dmk, and spillytime.

I just upgrade my EasyTouch into the new IntelliCenter... it came with 1.064 F/W and I have yet to update it..

Just for grins, I tried to duplicate your issue... and could not..

If the pool was running and I turned on the Spa, the Spa circuit would come on and the pool circuit would go off.. Then, if I turn off the spa, the pool would come back on only if still scheduled to run... The pool would then run until the schedule said to shut off.. If the pool was not scheduled to run, when I shut off the spa, then the spa would shut off, but the pool would not come back on. It seems to be working just like it should with 1.064..

I screwed around with various egg timers and schedules and could never duplicate your problem..

Just an FYI...

Thanks,

Jim R.

If you are not intending on updating, watch the freeze protection issues on pool/spa circuits.

Theory tested and still fails. Started the spa 10m ahead of the spillway program. Spillway program started like clockwork sending pool water into the spa 🥴
I forwarded the info to Isreal at pentair so hopefully I get a response.

This part has also always worked on mine (and i tried to duplicate the issue and could not) so I'm thinking there must be some setup issue with @spillytime setup.

A,

I tried to screw up my set up to duplicate the issue, but was never able to do it... I can't think of what set up issue function would cause the problem..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jeff,

I don't use freeze control as my pump runs 24/7..

I also do not have an attached spa, so I don't have to worry about the valve switching BS..

I have a very simple system... no spa, no heater... I have yet to find any issues with the original F/W.. Once everyone is happy with what they have I will upgrade..

Thanks,

Jim R.
