Jim, you have a simple system and will likely not have problems with an upgrade.I have a very simple system... no spa, no heater... I have yet to find any issues with the original F/W.. Once everyone is happy with what they have I will upgrade..
However, my advice to all new IntelliCenter installs is to upgrade to 3.XXX immediately after you power it up and before you do any configuring. Many of the 1.065 to 2.XXX were in configuration errors when settings were carried over in the upgrade. 2.XXX was a major rearchitecting of the firmware. I don’t know if they fixed the conversion process to 3.XXX.
The cleanest way is to start with a clean 3.XXX install and do all the configuration on 3.XXX.
I would not hang out on 1.064. There have been many bug fixes and improvements. And the IntelliCenter can roll back to 1.064 if necessary with a few taps on the control panel. The system saves the entire old firmware for rollback, if necessary.
If you do have a problem in the 1.064 to 3.XXX upgrade the thing to do is wipe the system clean, put on 3.XXX, and reconfigure everything. You just did it so it should be easy to do again.
