New Equipment

We had a hurricane take out our pool equipment and now I need to replace it all. I'm looking for some advice on what to get. The pool is 23-24k gallons. We will need a variable speed pump, booster pump, SWG, heat pump and DE filter. I would like the VSP to be able to control the booster (if thats possible) so I don't have to add a timer or automation. Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

Booster - Polaris PB4-60
SWG - Circupool Rj45+ or RJ60+
Heat Pump - Aquacal
Pentair QUAD DE or FNS 60 filter

Get a 3HP VS pump with IOBoard relays. I recommend the Pentair Intelliflo3 011078 pump.

Where are you located?

I'm located in the Houston area. The couple of quotes I have gotten for this are absurd for the conservative equipment values I have found. I'm going to buy the equipment and have a neighbors service company install it.

What about a Raypak heat pump? Which Aquacal? The Heatwave or the Tropical?
Raypak makes good equipment. If you choose AquaCal, get a HeatWave SuperQuiet that can chill your pool in the summer. I would suggest the SQ166R for a pool your size.

I had looked at the Heat/chiller pumps and after reading came to the conclusion that I would add a Glacier chiller instead. I can get the Raypak and the Glacier for almost the same price as the Aquacal and the Glacier is significantly cheaper to run.

Heat pumps are a commodity.

Check who in your area provides service on the heat pump models you are considering.

Many companies that sell heat pumps do not service them. Inquire who will provide warranty service locally and after-warranty service. Members have found they have orphan heat pumps, and no one locally could fix the problem. Any service that touches the refrigerant requires a technician with a Section 608 EPA Technician Certificate.

I have a Calimar 3hp VSP that is about a year old that was not damaged. So i could use that and add a timer to the booster and save the money on the pump
You will need a timer for the booster and for the SWG.

Is your equipment pad big enough to accommodate all that equipment? Make sure you include bypass(es) when they're installed.

Houston has service for HP repair. I had AquaCal warranty work done by HVAC Technician | Houston, TX | Environmental Air Systems

Does anyone have experience with the Circupool Universal 40? What makes the Circupool RJ45 a better choice?
U40 4YR warranty, Not sure the output increments, I believe it to be 5%.
RJ45 7YR warranty, and output increments of 5%.

I have an RJ and it is a beast. I love mine.
