TAK,

What do you mean "Get round this?" You never want the Power Center to have power unless the pump is running... This is to prevent the cell exploding if the flow switch fails.. Does not happen often, but often enough to never try to cheat this mandatory requirement.

The IntelliFlo3 has two relays that you can set up as "Flow Dependent". This means the relay will not close unless the pump is running with a certain amount of flow.

You just wire the flow dependent relay, inside the IntelliFlo3, between the breaker and the Power Center.

Side note.. I "assume" you have the IntelliFlo3 that has the relay card.. They come with and without the card.

Thanks,

Jim R.
Hey

@Jimrahbe
, Total newbie here. We are in the same situation. Finishing up our new pool and want to connect our intelliflo 3 to our intellichlor system. The intellichlor power center has 4 connections but not sure where those 4 wires should be connecting onto the pump? Additionally does the power center still get direct power from the junction box in addition to the 4 wires above? Thanks for any input and specifics for me.

Welcome to TFP.

Does your Intelliflo3 have the optional IO Board with 2 relays? That is where the Intellichlor Power Center would connect to.

K,

I assume you are talking about the com port on the power center's surge card..

As far as I know that IntelliFlo3 can't communicate with the IntelliChlor... SWCG..

Do you have an EasyTouch or IntelliCenter???

Does your IntelliFlo3 have a relay card?

Thanks,

Jim R.

The intelliflo3 model I originally bought didn't have the card but I just ordered the relay card for the pump to be able to connect with the swcg. No easy touch or intellicenter as I don't have any other equipment to need further automation. I just don't want the swcg to run unless the pump is running.

So only two of the four wires from the swcg are needed to connect with the io board on the pump? Which two?
No, you connect the AC power for the IntelliChlor Power Center through the 5A relay on the IO card.

Then you tell the pump through the Pentair HOME App to only close the relay when the pump is running.

What model cell are you connecting to the Power Center?
