Betta SE Plus

Well one thing that I have noticed so far. It does WAY better in shallow water than the SE or 2. My pool is at a level now where the SE would get stuck on my steps but the SE Plus cruises right over them. The back end seems to ride much higher than the SE. I just ordered some lead weights to stick on the front of the SE to see if I can get it to balance out better.

I also suspect that it will do a better job when backing up not to release its contents for the same reason it does better in shallow water. I will need to get into the pool tomorrow to test that out.

Would a rock in the front of the basket keep its nose down? Ordered mine and it will be here Monday/Tuesday.

Mine has does great, I’ve had it for about a month. I got mine on Amazon and then bought the three year warranty from them. Very easy. My only issue is that the last few days, we’ve noticed it dumps some of its loot when we pull it from the pool. Anyone else have this issue? It’s not much, just enough to be annoying.

With 2 of them there is no need to run your skimmers at all. Which is great for me, because now I don’t have to worry about pine needles blocking my skimmer and causing the pump to suck in air. As far as weights I probably wouldn’t put lead in the pool. A couple of golf balls might do what you want.

If you ordered an SE Plus you probably wont need it. It seems to ride more flat. If you ordered a regular SE then maybe it will help. I just ordered some lead weights for tires and will try sticking those to the front to see what happens.

If you can get the Asurion warranty I would get it from Amazon. But that does not seem to be an option anymore. Based on that I would buy directly from Betta and get the 3 year warranty.
Amazon has it for $349, just got mine. $321 if you're an Amazon Prime member. It's $419 on the Betta site. You can get the extended warranty when you receive it; the mail-in form is in the box. This will be a HUGE timesaver.

I'm really tempted to pickup the SE Plus to give it a try. Our skimmers alone work fairly well but when we get closer to the fall I worry about trying to keep up with all of the leaves falling. My only concern is that this won't work well while the pump is running and that it will get stuck in the skimmer openings. I'd rather not put a piece of foam or something else in front of the skimmers. It will also be competing with the flow of the return jets when navigating the pool. That said, I'm still tempted to give it a try with the Amazon 30 day return period.

I had the same concerns which is why I decided to buy it from Amazon with the free return option. I have a single skimmer and I have not seen it get stuck in the two weeks I've had it. I run my pump at medium speed and low speed. The winds and water flow seem to have little effect on the bot. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I'm very impressed with the Betta so far, and I've always been kind of an anti-robot guy. It has been working nonstop for me.

If you let the water level get to low, they will get stuck in the skimmers. Unless you just shut down the skimmer like I do.

I love my skimmer wizard as much as my bettas! The only problem with the wizard is once summer starts it will get algae on the inside so just have to remove it, scrub away and keep an eye out for the greenies. I’m debating a back up Betta before the end of the night. My SE has been running non-stop for a year. The prior model with numerous warranty repairs finally died. I’m not sure I really need the plug in charger for the few extra bucks.

One major improvement I’ve noticed with the SE which might not have been done but seems to be is the props stop spinning and put betta in red flashing light mode when pine straw gets tangled up in the rotors. I assume there is some feature that does this when the prop motors struggle due to increased turning resistance. Who knows! Could be! In any case, my SE has been fabulous!

Okay you all convinced me to pull the trigger on the SE Plus. It should arrive on Sunday. Can't wait to give it a try! My wife actually sent me a link to the Amazon listing a few days ago and I told her I needed to check with the experts on TFP before making a decision. :)

Your pool looks awesome. I love the full length and width benches.
Thank you! I have to give credit to my wife for the final design and we love the way it turned out. It’s not the biggest pool, but it’s the largest size the county would allow due to easements and impervious buffers. It’s perfect for the two of us. And the water feature creates the perfect amount of white noise to drown out the crazy next door neighbor…

I finally got around to putting mine into the pool.

how do you handle it with pool cleaners?

Do you leave both in the pool or operate them individually?

Currently I took mine out to see how this operates but I prefer to leave it in the pool so I don’t have to mess with any of them.
