For the first test or two, maybe not wait quite so long. You'll get in a routine once you see how quickly the FC falls, but the early part usually drops quicker. Eventually the FC should start to hold better, but on day 1 you might babysit the pool a little closer if you can.

Just tested
FC is at 13 now cya is still well I put down 0.25 because it never really turned pink it was just like a tiny hint of paint I almost couldn't see it though and I put a tiny job of course it turned clear but like I said I don't know if that slight of pink counts or not.

Let me know what my next step should be, I don't think I need to add any liquid chlorine obviously because our Target was 10 and it's 13. I've got the stabilizer still in the pool hanging from that pole. The water looks a little cloudy in the middle actually. But around the edge where there are graduated steps and some random ledges, I can see the bottom there

Your first paragraph is confusing.
You mention CYA and pink - the CYA test doesn't turn anything pimk.

  • Review the SLAM Process and follow it to the letter.
  • Get CYA up to 30. If you already added enough CYA to get to 30, consider it in the pool even if it doesn't register on the test.
  • Use FC of 12 for your SLAM Process target.
  • Test and dose FC three or more times daily. Don't test/dose more than every 2 hours.

Sorry for the confusion...
At the moment I have stabilizer at the bottom of my pool - one of the socks broke. I am using the brush and moving it around but it isn't dissolving very fast. I am getting ready to do another round of tests
It is getting ready to rain and I suppose to deal with the fallout I will need to just test fc diligently tomorrow. Anything else I should know?

Try to keep the stabilizer moving around as best as you can for now. watch the FC level from time to time to ensure it remains close to the SLAM level of 12. Be patient and follow the SLAM Process page. Consistency is the name of the game.

CYA is now 40
FC is high - 15. In the earlier message I was talking about the CC test ... it is the same result this time - after I add the r0003, it barely turns color but there is the very slightest blush to it. I added the one drop of 0871 and of course it cleared immediately. I am not sure if the tiny tinge of blush it turned should be considered turning pink? is the standard if you see any change at all in the water it would be considered pink?

Do I need to do anything about the fc 15? or just wait and see after it rains?

Having no problem following the directions. all is well with that. the stabilizer is dissipating slowly. It is going to rain hard, it is sprinkling now.

Your CC is .5. Mine is always .5, ignore it at that level.
