I have a Hayward H250FDN heater, and the top vent area has accumulated a fair amount of pine straw. Everything I can find says to just remove the cover and clean it out, but all the photos I see online have a clear cutout for the top cover to come off. Mine is all one piece and held on not only by a bunch of screws, but the plastic side pieces as well! I tried to take off the left piece, but it won't move far enough away from the screws on the side of the top piece without disconnecting the gas line. I suspect there will be a similar problem on the right side due to the water lines but didn't even bother trying. How the heck am I supposed to clean this so they don't burst into flames?!
