Quick update I stayed on it today and have added about 159oz of bleach 12% so far today. I’ll keep on it every 1-2 hrs and post more updates.

I did the white bucket test here is the before and after pictures I cannot tell a difference. 1st is before 2nd is after. I added more 12% bleach and it looks more green/yellow third picture.

Here is the 12% I am using.

I tested TA again and it’s at 225. Calcium is 175.

Also, clean your filter. Note clean pressure. When you filter pressure rises 25%, clean them again. Stay on top of this too...
The cartridge filter is brand new as of 3 days ago. Looks like a good call on cleaning the filter I can’t believe how much was in there.

I ordered one of those aqua combs a couple days ago should be here in a couple days. How do I clean this filter properly? I have a TSP substitute will that help?

I also bought a new filter and put it in so I can swap them and keep it running.

Yuck.

Do not use TSP substitute. If you use it, use TSP.

I find that the comb is good for a first pass, but going over everything again with a normal nozzle set to a small jet gets everything considerably cleaner. That may be important for algae. Unfortunately it goes slow. For my CCP 330 it usually takes over an hour to do a good job. But it lasts for 6 months.

Yeah yuck. I found some tsp the old filter is soaking overnight following the instructions.

I picked up something called a bullseye nozzle used it at a 45 degree angle went slow starting from top down and did the entire filter took about 25-30 mins until water ran clear all the way top and bottom.

Checked FC down to 13 added 43oz of 12% bleach. New filter running old filter soaking in tsp. Pressure with new filter is at 18 that is what it was with all that gunk but I’m going to keep up the daily filter check/swap and soak in tsp overnight.

Loving the help from the forum and poolmath app. Thanks to everyone responding the support is very helpful and encouraging.

Have you checked to see if the LC you are using is in fact not degraded, meaning by date or from excessive heat where it may have been stored? The only reason I ask is because we are doing a SLAM currently, and the LC we were getting from the pool store was coming from their super heated warehouse onsite, and my FC was not increasing as it should based on the amounts I was putting in. I went to a different pool store and bought some that was stored inside and it made all the difference as far as what my FC numbers were doing. Just a thought, maybe try some different LC from a different place and see what happens? Was definitely and issue for us.

Does the gauge go to 0 when pump is off?
Yes it does go to 0 of the pump is off. after adding recommended amount 1.25 hrs ago FC is at 18

I actually thought of the same thing today so I went somewhere else and got more 12.5% that I know is stored indoors just in case. The FC is going up when I add the old stuff so I don’t think that’s it but I’m transitioning over to the new stuff moving forward so I’ll let you know.

This morning FC 13. Water color turned from green to a blue/green. Called for 56oz to bring to SLAM level I added 64oz won’t be able to check for a 3-4 hours.

The pressure on the cartridge filter still 18. I’ll open it up again later today to see what it looks like inside. The other filter soaked in tsp all night

Yeah... don't do that. It is about sustained level and duration, adding more does not help. Use your SLAM level FC as your target for all additions independent of how long you are going to wait to add again...

Good job on the progress!

I just figured it wouldn't hurt to add more because it will be like sustaining the level, and the heat index will be like 110F today. So, adding more doesn't speed up, which makes sense. It's the time/FC level sustained over time. Do I need to account for heat? Does the poolmath app account for the outdoor temperature or pool water temp? Increasing or lowering FC requirement? Or does it even matter?

Another update for today. FC down to 12, added 58oz of 12%, cleaned new cartridge filter and stuck back in not as yuck today. Pool water moving from green/blue to milky/blue.
