Just updated to the latest IntelliCenter Firmware 2.017 from 1.064. Process was smooth, and with the only exception of the time going from Internet based to manual, all configuration parameters (incl. freeze settings) updated correctly. Will test heater cooldown issue later. I would have liked to see a list of bug fixes/enhancements (not just JIRA #), so if anyone has more information, that would be great. It looks like Pentair included many additional bug fixes and/or enhancements since their premature 2.006 release.

Update OTA was not available, so used USB option.

This is what I have been able to ascertain so far..
  • ICENTER-1492 The Opened/Closed state of covers on OCP does not reflect on app. << critical fixed
  • ICENTER-1417 FW v2.010 Shared Body: A new Pool schedule (set for a future time) causes running Spa schedule to turn off in subpanels << critical fixed
  • ICENTER-1407 FW v2: VSF pump does not run when Speed/Flow circuit is set for a heater
  • ICENTER-1351 SPACMD button LED does not remain on for pool in single body
  • ICENTER-1199 Solar cooling does not turn off upon solar temperature change
  • ICENTER-1226 No pool covers shown in single body
  • ICENTER-9732 THW getting stuck at "Loading Please Wait." window after reset (Press and Hold Reset button for 10 seconds) - Reported by ******* (Field Testing).
As for me, I'm planning on staying put on FW v1.064 until such time as the developers over at nodejs-poolController might give the green light that it is okay to upgrade to v2.017 and that the upgrade won't blow up my njspC and cause all sorts of other issues, like the unstable FW versions 1.232, 2.002 (beta's) and 2.006 did (I didn't even upgrade to v2.006 after reading all of the bad reports here on TFP and because I had really bad experiences with those two previously metioned beta's).
Thanks...

@MyAZPool - thanks for the useful info as always. Hopefully they fixed a lot more than your list above. This does not touch on any of the main 2.006 issues!

According to one of my contacts at Pentair, FW Version 2.017 "has all the enhancements of previous builds including 2.006".
Hopefully this one will be "Issue Free."
Good Luck... 🤞

Also, I might caution anyone that is running nodejs-poolController now or may be planning to in the future, to be very cautious about upgrading to this latest IntelliCenter FW version at the present time. I believe this to be a firmware "re-architecture" (re-arch) and it may have negative consequences for anyone running njspC.
Thanks...

I had to apply the firmware via USB so I was somewhat hesitant to apply it but I did anyhow. I did also have to apply the update to the remote panel as well.

I’m happy to report that it appears that I have no new bugs and the one bug that I was dealing with has been corrected where the main pump would also shut off if I turned off the cleaner circuit under 2.006. So, for me, this has been corrected with 2.017.

It has been stable for me and ALMOST everything is working well.
The almost is because for me It has amplified the frequency of the issue with the intelliflo pumps that have firmware 3.03/3.04 and i am waiting for the regional Pentair rep to come do the firmware update. Both my feature pump and circ pump are on 3.04 and will lose rs485 connection daily. It sometimes comes back on its own but other times require a pump breaker reset. The only positive on this is that i had been asking Pentair for the pump firmware update prior to 2.017 but i was just the kook who heard on the internet that it needed to be done. Now 2.017 told me to call and have it done so i'm at least on the radar lol.

I am planning to update on Saturday when I am down at my beach house. I have not heard of the jntelliflo pump firmware issue. Does this apply to v3 pumps or to all IntelliFlo pumps? Where can one find the pump firmware version?

I think you can disconnect the RS-485 cable from the pump or go into service mode on the IntelliCenter, and then you can navigate to the appropriate place in the menu tree on the pump to check the firmware version.
Also, you'll know you have less than v3.05 after you upgrade to v2.017 AND you see this on your touchpad screen.

In order to to have your pump re-flashed to the latest firmware (3.05), you'll need to call (U.S.) 800-831-7133. Advise them accordingly and they will send out a "Pentair Authorized Service Technician".
Apparently, that is the only way to accomplish the re-flash at this time.

Two issues noticed with 2.017 so far:

1. IntelliFlo stops responding (comms lost and pump shuts off) when one of my feature/speed circuits is selected.

2. Pump status (RPM and Watts) is very slow to respond. It takes around 10 seconds for the status to display correctly after changing pump RPM.

For me, 2.017 has been very stable, especially RS485 comms. I’ve not yet had a loss of comms between IntelliCenter and IntelliPro VSF pumps (pumps have FW version 2.11) or MasterTemp heater. I still would like to see more from Pentair on what they enhanced or fixed. They clearly put much effort into 2.017 and should openly share and be proud of what they did!

ALCON,

So… when I upgraded to 2.017, most things worked but I have one big problem. Any suggestions welcome.

Essentially, I have a main panel (lets call this panel 1) and 2 expansion panels (lets call these panels 2 and 3). During the upgrade, panel 2 and 3 were switched… as far as I can tell, the only issue this causes is that when I turn on what used to be Aux 1 on panel 3, it now turns on Aux 1 on panel 2 etc.

Does anyone know of a setting somewhere where I can swap these back? The alternative is to reconfigure the 10 Auxillary circuits (5 on each panel) but then I will probably need to reconfigure circuit groups also. All that is not too difficult but my worry is external integration (I have Control4 integrated into the IntelliCenter via the Official Driver and it can be a little temperamental, so I suspect that fixing this will be many hours of work.

Suggestions anyone?

I had the same issue when I upgraded to 2.006. I just hadn’t diagnosed what the issue was at that time..

As an update, yesterday a tech came out and flashed both pumps to 3.05. They have been rock solid stable since. This also seemed to resolve an intermittent intellichlor disconnected that I would get so I'm guessing 3.03/3.04 introduced some "noise" on the buss that is since eliminated.
I tried to peep the software he was using for the firmware update but could not. He used a standard 2 wire intelliflo data cable with a USB to rs485 dongle. The update was offline as he did not need to connect to the internet. He did have to pull out an old laptop as he said whatever software he used is not windows 11 compatible.
I asked him about the mastertemp issue with the bypass valve and while he seemed knowledgeable on everything else I quizzed him on, he didn't even realize the newer mastertemp had a valve actuator header 🤦🏾‍♂️
I do think I made a new friend to source dead intellivalves for rebuild from though 😁

I'm encountering the same RS-485 problems with my HP that I saw with 2.006

I've reverted to 1.064 and will probably stay with it indefinitely.
