Wiring Equipment

I hope this is the right place to post this question, I am new to the forum... I have been creeping around looking for the answer, but there seems to be a couple of different answers. My pool build is almost done, I am doing the electrical myself. I have Pentair Easytouch 8 control panel, intelliflo vsf pump, mastertemp 400 (gas), and polaris booster pump to run my cleaner.

My main question is I realize the vs pump needs constant power, do i wire direct to the breaker then take it over to the relay or do I go direct to the relay from the pump and wire it hot from the breaker?

For the heater, I know I need to tap into the firemans switch and run that on the low voltage side to the "gas heater" port. Is it also necessary to power the heater direct to the same 2 pole breaker as the filter pump?

I also have a second 2 pole siemens 20 amp breaker that I plan to dedicate to my polaris booster pump.

I really appreciate the help, thanks!

Welcome to TFP.

Since you will need to power multiple devices from the pump CB you use the filter pump relay as a junction box.

Wire the CB to the left side of the LINE screws.

Wiire the VS pump wires to the right side of the LINE screws.

Wire the heater and your future SWG to the LOAD screws.

Correct.

Yes, see above.

You need to power that pump through an AUX relay.

Yes, I have the correct GFCI circuit breakers. I am using a zodiac, no salt generator. So I will basically never go direct to the breaker from the equipment, always go direct from equipment to relay.

VS pump goes direct to line sides of relay so it will be hot wired. Heater can go direct to load side of the same relay as VS pump. (This one was most confusing because pentair vsf manual says wire direct to breaker)

Booster pump for cleaner goes direct to load side of relay #2 since it does not need to be hot wired.

Thanks, I will send a pic once I get it wired up next week! They are supposed to do pebble sheen next Wednesday, cant wait to have some water in there!

If not the swg then likely the zodiac mineral doohinky

Mineral doohinkys cause metal staining which is why I am poking into it.
