So I added the amount that I was told by the pool math calculator, but for some reason I’m only at FC of 23… keep calculating until I get to that number for SLAM right?

I added around 4:30pm and I tested again 30mins later. Maybe I should have waited an hour to test? I wanted to make sure I got to FC and then test less regularly.

Tested just now again ( 1hr after adding a bit more) and I am at an FC of 28. So add MORE? My FC SLAM is 31.
What is your CYA...slam of 31 doesn't sound right...

Generally, add enough to get to SLAM level..wait an hour or two and retest and add. Print these out, read them 3 times, refer to them anytime....Link-->SLAM Process

Your slam level is 32. Use that with pool math.

You may find that slamming at 80 is going to be hard. With a 3300 gallon pool, any reason why you don't want to do an exchange to get your CYA down before you SLAM?

Ok then the TFP cal is wrong on the site...

I could exchange some water but I feel like I'm a bit too late since I already started. Almost there, FC wise.

You’re correct- slam fc is 31ppm. @PoolStored hasn’t had his snickers yet 🤣
Perhaps they sold u old liquid chlorine or your pool volume is a little off?

That’s most likely my pool volume that’s a little off. Will being 1-2 FC off the SLAM ruin the procedure? As I am approaching sunset, I want to try and test and do the overnight chlorine test.

Add what you’re lacking to reach slam level.

No, you are losing FC all the time anyway and you will never be 100% sure your add got to 31. My mistake on the chart, I will chat with @Mdragger88 and get the skinny on the nether regions of the SLAM levels... Your target is 31.

I'll take one final test for the day in about 45mins. I've needed to add chlorine (3) times so far. Let's hope the last test is close to 31.
If you are trying to get a test of 31 FC after the hour test...that is not how the SLAM works.

You test FC. Add what you need to get to 31. Wait an hour or two and do it again. It will likely never be 31 when you retest after an hour/two during daylight. At these high levels, between algae, sun and 1/2 life of chlorine, you will consume something in those 2 hours.

That is why we do OCLT. At night, without sun, if you don't lose FC, then we know you don't have algae...

Also, enter all your tests and chemical additions into pool math, that way we can see progress and know exactly what you have done to your pool.
