I've been dealing with some algae and going through the SLAM process. This morning I woke to find my FC dropped by c1 over night, so that's good. But my CC is 1 5. Those two things don't make sense to me. If my CC is 1.5, something is in there using the chlorine right? Also, there's a small amount of gray stuff in the bottom, guessing some dead algae, or maybe a mix of that and some DE from the filter. Any tips?

Just keep SLAMming.
Slam until your pool is stupid clear...Link-->How Clear is TFP Clear?
After the pool is clear of any debris, then test for OCLT, and test CC on the morning test.

Be sure the vial you are using for FC/CC testing is clean. Use alcohol or bleach to clean it. Make sure it is dried before testing.
