Team -

We have a newer pool and we include it in occasional AirBnb rental for our guest house.

We had some very excited people check in really late last nigh and I see they turned on the Spa between 1AM-2AM last night ...

Sooo ... don't want that to happen again. Is there a way for me the put a schedule in place on my IntelliCenter to disable the remote control ?

Thanks folks.

Hilmi

It would be a good idea to Create Your Signature so we know what equipment you have. AFAIK there is no way to restrict the times that the SpaCommand can be used. Off the top of my head one way to hack it would be to connect the 15VDC wire used for the remote via a relay in the IntelliCenter to schedule the hours of operation. Try at your own risk, maybe someone else has another solution that would be less intrusive.

Hilmi,

I can't think of a way using programming that would solve your issue.

Thinking about what guinness said above... You could use a relay powered by a timer inside the IntelliCenter enclosure. The relay would on be closed when you wanted the spa active. The relay contacts would disable the heater and the power going to the Intake and Return valve. Doing this would prevent the system from ever going into the spa mode and would keep the heater from working.

I suspect there are other things that you could disable that might do the same thing..

Why do you care if the guests want to use the hot tub at 2 am??? Seems like they are paying for it??

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks for the input Jim - I personally don't care, but my neighbors didn't appreciate been woken up in the middle of the night by strangers shouting "get your Rear in the hot tub"!

The one issue with just disconnecting the remote is that once it is on it will just stay on. You could create a rule in njsPC that would turn off the spa after an attempt to turn it on after hours. But that would require njsPC intalled on the property as well as a little bit of setup.

My Egg timer for the Spa is 30 mins so If I can shutdown the remote at 10:30PM and it runs a bit longer that's no issue.

What is njsPC - not a lot of hits on Google ....

njsPC is nodejs-PoolController. It is an open source controller that connects to the RS485 bus and allows for additional control. There are interfaces to popular home automation systems as well as interfaces to add functionality to your pool automation.
