IG Vinyl Build: It's Happening!

I had to get in mine a few weeks ago to get a screw that I dropped, and then to put the step faceplates on. I had the same 'I can't feel my legs' experience as you did.

There is NO way I would have been in the BURRRRRRRRRR. Did you jump in all at once to get it over with?

I don't think the robot (who needs a name) cares about the temp of the water. A SWG will not work in the cold (under 60 or so) water.

Robot Names, in no order of preference so far:

1) E5, it’s like a 5th child to do pool chores, we call our other kids E1,2,3,or 4 based on their age. Their names all start with E.

2) Klubot, in honor of Corey Kluber, 2 time Cy Young winner for cleveland who almost single handedly won us the World Series in 2016. He was like a robot so we called him Klubot.

3) Josey, pronounced Ho Zee, after Jose Ramirez, who has to be probably the single best value in all of baseball with the extension he signed in Cleveland. He produces and hustles all the time, like I envision my A20.

I’ve got my pool math linked to TFP. Can you all see it, I don’t know where to look on here?

Wondering if I should add one more stabilizer? I have it at 30, but it’s probably slightly below because the graduated cylinder only goes so far.

I’m still getting used to the testing with my color blindness but the tips I got earlier this year are helping. Plus the fact there are actually chemicals in the water now as opposed to fill water registering 0 everywhere :ROFLMAO:

Not this time of year. Most of what you have now will be gone in the spring. No need to lose even more. (y)

Also, I like E-5. It was what I affectionately called Alex Rodrigez playing 3rd base.

Water temp does affect the robots. There performance definitely decreases and some say it can be detrimental to the unit. There are a few posts on here about this. Search for 'cold water robots'. The Dolphin specs say

3.2 Cautions
Use the Pool Cleaner in the following water conditions only:
Chlorine Maximum 4 ppm
pH 7.0-7.8
Temperature 6-34°C/43-93°F
NaCl Maximum 5000 ppm

With that said... We have just added "The KRAKEN" to our pool maintenance fleet...

I noticed this going through the manual. What gives? Pool Math has target range of 2-6 ppm for FC, but this says less than 4. Just a case of being over cautious?

Just a case of the industry not recognizing the CYA / FC relationship. Disregard the outdated recommendation.

At any level on the CYA chart (with the appropriate FC), it's less harsh than tap water with 0 CYA and a FC up to 4.

Such a common sense answer about the lubricants and moving parts, you’d think none of us would ask. But I guess we’re not all engineers, mechanics, robotics experts, or anything else where that would be top of mind. Thanks!

Very cool... Do you know what you got for a warranty period?
Booklet says 24 month warranty. However, it also says warranty void if purchased over the internet. Definitely posed the question to Margaret at Marina and will let you know what I hear. It was technically a phone order so I think I should be good. Wondering if that’s why Marina doesn’t actually sell online. 🤷‍♂️ 🤔

A phone order is considered an in-store purchase and not an internet purchase.

That is why you see certain pool products say CALL.

well, the dirt is gone! Now, just waiting for concrete, then fence and landscaping. Few things to button up at equipment pad. Not a big deal other than getting final inspection approved but waiting on some electrical equipment so we can tie in and hook everything up.
