Pool Size

Surface
Vinyl
Chlorine
Salt Water Generator
SWG Type
Hayward Turbo Cell (T-CELL-5)
Future home of our replacement pool. We put a deposit on the pool and the store said very possible it could be installed by mid August!

Unfortunately we procrastinated for 3 years and the grass (and weeds! 😆) took over. We are now in the process of removing the rocks we put down originally which nature has taken over so the installers can do their thing ... not fun! 🤣

What did you decide on ? We need the deets.
:epds:
It's a 24 foot round 52" high Endless Summer Kamika. Hayward sand filter, pump, Aquatrol SWG and Penguin suction auto cleaner. The liner is a Swimline Mystic Gold and a Confer pool entry system for the steps.

The dealer is going to hard pipe the filter system and he includes a mat and plastic base for under
teps. It may be normal these days (it wasn't 20 years ago) but his crew will come and put the salt in the pool and sand in the filter. Back then with a different dealer there was none of that.

The 52 inches is SUPER nice. It doesn't seem like much to you now, but if I took them away from you down the road, you'd cut me.

Gettng all name brands is always a plus. They have failure rates too but there is a large company that you can easily find.

Thanks!

The pool we had was the same size and it was great! The liner is fancier than what we had 😆 and thicker it seems. I did ask about 54" but it was a lot more money for 2" more and not worth it IMO.

The dealer steered me away from a DE filter, he said our Township may be passing an ordinance stating it is considered hazardous waste and as was pointed out here it really doesn't matter. I have 3 bags of Aquaperl sitting in my garage from our last pool if I need extra filtering power in the new filter.

The dealer is local and has been around forever. He seemed nice and answered all of our questions. The fact that he is going to hard pipe the pool is a big plus, no more hoses!! 👍🤣

Great news - NOT! They're coming to install our pool August 27th ... really just in time to shut it down. I'm hoping we have a heat wave in September!!!

Ah that’s not the best. Although given the heat this year I would not be surprised if you have some hot days in sept.
We procrastinated, can't be too disappointed... now if we ordered the pool in April and it was just getting installed we certainly would be disappointed!

Gives us more time to clean up the old pool area.

The rocks/pebbles around the pool are being removed, we did about 1/2 the perimeter. Doesn't sound like a lot but it was brutally hot in NJ and we are not accustomed to this type of work; younger people probably would have accomplish this task a lot quicker as well! :D Luckily we have some time to worry about it, probably do about an hour a night after I get home from work. We already went to the township and had the lot drawing done by the land use people. The electrician is coming Tuesday to give us an estimate on the work that's needed to update the exsisting pool electrical to current codes. It's coming along ...

You definitely picked a hot one to do that work! I can sympathize. When we backfilled before electrical it was also in the 90s.

Sounds like things are coming along!
I took the week as vacation a while ago, long before the pool decision. Luckily we have mature trees and a good amount of shade. We moved to the shaded areas instead of working in the sun. We took lots of breaks and drank lots of water. And when a breeze came around we relished it! 🤣

I did the same thing for install week. My vacation was shoveling, plumbing and running to stores for supplies.
I already received my solar cover, test kit refills, have CYA coming along with winter cover. Tested my tap water for CH, all good about 60. Waiting for PH refill to test that and will run the other water chemistry once it gets closer to fill date. Pool store said they will supply the sand and salt for the pool, this apparently was included in the price.

I'll run out for bleach, borax and baking soda when the pool is up and full of water.

I guess we operate very similarly!👍
